Adding to growing concern that the nation will not see an economic
soft landing this year, the Korea Development Institute (KDI) has come
out with its own gloomy picture for the economy next year.

아져 가는 중에, KDI가 스스로 내년도 경제의 어두운 전망을 공표하였다.

The state-run economic think tank warned of a lapse into
stagflation, or rising prices and little growth, and suggested that the
current-account deficit would jump next year mainly because of an
increase in the invisible trade shortfall.
국영 경제씽크탱크인 KDI는 우리 경제가 저성장속에 물가 앙등, 즉, 스
태그플레이션으로 빠져들 가능성을 경고하면서, 내년도의 경상 수지 적자는
주로 무역외 수지적자때문에 크게 늘어날 것이라고 전망하였다.

Contrary to the government's expectations, the national economy is on
a sharp decline. The big question is whether it will touch down gently.
Deteriorating exports and many other problems are lying in wait to
make it a rough, rather than soft, landing. Making matters worse, there
are even signs of stagflation, that is rising prices despite a lack of
economic growth.
정부의 예상과는 어긋나게, 한국의 경제는 급속한 침체를 계속하고 있다.
가장 큰 의문은 한국의 경제가 과연 연착륙을 할 수 있는가에 있다. 수출부
진과 기타 많은 문제점들이 경제를 추락시키려고 도사리고 있어서 연착륙을
어렵게 만들고 있다. 사태를 더욱 어렵게 만드는 것은, 부진한 경제성장에도
불구하고, 물가가 올라가는 스태그플레이션의 징조까지 나타나는 점이다.
