Our personnel was negligent in conducting pre-shipment checks, thus inviting the trouble.
The main reason for our failure in the shipment was a delay in changes in the production line at the manufacturer.
Despite our repeated request for speeding up the changes, the manufacturer was unable to comply with it.

→ 때가 되었으니: since it was supper-time,…
I was well aware that it was I who should have suggested having dinner together,…
I readily accepted his idea.
(ANS) We arrived at Chonju a little after six o'clock. Yong-ok and I had to take a local bus from there and travel one more hour. I wanted to go to the bus station right away but Tol-nam suggested that since it was supper-time we all go into the town and eat something. I was well aware that it was I who should have suggested having dinner together, so I readily accepted his idea.

e.g.
1) 120 : one hundred (and) twenty
2) 359 : three hundred (and) fifty nine
3) 2,898 : two thousand, eight hundred (and) ninety-eight
4) 1,506 : one thousand, five hundred and six
5) 1,700 : one thousand, seven hundred
6) 47,309 : forty-seven thousand, three hundred and nine
7) 559,921 :
five hundred fifty-nine thousand, nine hundred twenty-one
8) 5,779,075 :
five million,seven hundred seventy-nine thousand,seventy-five
3) twenty-eight, ninety-
1) zero[oh]-three,one-two-three,four-five-six-seven
2) // , // ,forty-five sixty-seven
3) // ,one twenty-three,forty-five sixty-seven
-----------------------------------------------------------------
e.g. > 0.2 : (zero) point two
> 0.05 : (zero) point zero five
> 1.7 : one point seven
> 25.9 : twenty-five point nine
> thirty-five point nine dollars
> // dollars and nine cents
> // ,nine
e.g. ⅓ : one third ⅔ : two thirds
3/5: three fifths
e.g. > 7층 : the seventh floor
> 4번째 : the fourth time
> 오른쪽에서 6번째 : (the) sixth from the right
> 제 2과 : the second lesson
July (the) fourth/(the) fourth of July

A:Do you mean you're off on a trip tomorrow?
B:That's right. This time tomorrow I'll be in L.A.

make out을 써 보자.
성공할 것이다'를 "He'll make out all right." '카피를 뜨다'도 make
out a copy를 쓸 수 있다.
또한 틀리기 쉬운 것으로는 make a difference(중요하다), make a go of(
잘 해 보다), make a killing(크게 벌다), make believe(하는 체하다),
make good(성공하다), make good time(빨리 가다), make bo bone about(-
에 구애되지 않다), make much of(소중히 여기다), make light(ro little
) of(-을 얕보다), make of(이해하다)등등이 있다.
Did you make it out?
Do you understand?
Do I make myself clear (or understood)?

I will waste
no time."또는 "I'll lose no time."
뜻이라면 at once, right now가 좋겠다. '통지하다'는 let you know이다.
Please
let me know가 있다.
...역례...I'll waste no time in letting you konw by card.
I'll let you know by card right away.

I'm not sure what time he gets done.
Don't worry. I'll have that taken care of right away.

A:I'm sorry to keep you waiting.
B:That's all right.
A:I'll be right with you.
B:Take your time. I'm in no hurry.

Give me a kiss.
Adlin : We'll call when we land.
Rocky : You, be a good boy. All right.
I'll bring you back something.

He is on his way here, as we speak.
=He is on his way over here right this time/minute.

We tried for six years to have a baby. And I've said it, but I cannot put it in other words than that.
* pull off ((구어)) (노력하여) ...

What was it like to be put into, you know, that sort of set and working with, I presume, largely Western crews?
I feel at that time I did not speak English, I could not really read the script.

T : Let's get started. Where were we last class?
S1 : We learned the dialogue on page 40.
T : Have you all memorized it? Let's go over what we did last time.
Ss : Okay.
T : All right. Then, let's listen to it again.
Now, go on to Unit 5. Listen carefully to the tape.
S2 : Could you play it once more?
T : Sure. Here are some comprehension questions.
S3 : Do we have to do them?
T : I'm afraid you have to.

T : We are going to have a pop quiz today, aren't we?
Close your books, please. First of all, write your number and name on your paper.
S1 : Do we have to write our names in Korean?
S2 : Where do we write our names?
T : Write your name in English in the top right-hand corner.
S2 : How much time will you give us?

S2 : How much time do we have left?

S1 : How was your English exam?
S2 : I made a lot of mistakes.
S1 : Is that why you look depressed? Don't worry. Don't be so discouraged. Everything will be all right.
S2 : I prepared for my midterms. I did my best for this test.
But this is the result. I'm disappointed at myself.
S1 : Cheer up, Chul-su ! Pull yourself together. Be positive.
There are sunny days ahead. Don't worry about it. After the rain comes fair weather.

T : Everyone, It's time for listening practice. First of all, let's check the tape recorder. Is it clear enough?

T : Can you hear in the back?
S2 : No, Mr. Kim. Is it at the maximum?
T : I wonder.
S2 : If so, I don't think the tape recorder works properly.
T : Oh, I'm sorry. I've got too much bass. Just a second. I'll try it again. Is the volume all right now?
S2 : Yes, Mr. Kim.
T : Good. Now, you will hear the dialogue. Listen carefully.

S2 : You said you can beat me.
S1 : Well, it's a deal.
S2 : See you later then. Laboggi will be on you. Haha.

T : We haven't had English class for a long time!
S1 : That's right, we haven't! There were so many school events this month that we couldn't have class.
During this time, I forgot many English words.
T : Because of this, as of today, why don't we study harder? Where have we learned up to?
S2 : Ms. Kim, someone is outside the classroom!
T : Is that so? How come you are here?
M : I am here to see the homeroom teacher of 3-2.
T : That's me. Why did you come?
M : I am Tae-su's mother.
T : Are you? In fact, I've wanted to call you.
M : I should have come to see you earlier...

For a long time we lived in the illusion that "everything would come out all right", but inevitably we arrived at the impasse where we had to face realities and make painful decisions.

I know I am fallible, but I feel confident that I am right this time.

The word presently may mean "right now"or "at a future time".Therefor, to say "I will do that presently" must be considered an ambiguous statement.
"presently"라는 말은 "바로 지금"이나 "앞으로"의 뜻이 있기 때문에 "I will do that presently."

Planning is important, but it is action that gets things done.
If you just plan to lose weight, or just plan to start a business, it never happens.
The way to make things happen is to take action.
Find something you can do right now, today, and that will bring you closer to your goal.
Don't put it off until the time is right.
No matter how unimportant your action may seem, it makes you start in the right direction.
Continue taking action every day and you start to gain momentum.

Reporter : What is the main role of your organization?
Mr. Kim : We gather opinions and requests from people and deliver them to the politicians.
And when we find some politicians not doing their jobs properly, we push them to do their best to fulfill their duties.
Reporter : Why did you choose to work here in Seoul?
Mr. Kim : Well, we talked over this issue for a long time.
And most of the members agreed that it would be better to have our office in the center of political power.
The decision was right and we'll stay here for a while.

Asians are spending more time at the computer.
According to a recent survey, 60 percent of Singaporeans now have computers in their homes.
But all that keyboard time shouldn't kill good penmanship.
Kids, in particular, should be encouraged to write by hand.
Here are a few ideas to help you and your family write right.
Keep stationary, paper and good quality pens around the house to make writing easier.
Write a letter by hand.
E-mail is fast and easy, but a written letter is more meaningful.
Taking time to write a letter shows you care.

Imagine you were asked to work overtime and you didn't want to do it.
Then you were told you would get paid twice as much money.
You would probably become more cooperative.
This idea also works with children.
A few years ago, a child of mine wouldn't brush her teeth before going to bed.
Nothing we did could make her change her mind.
Then, my parenting class teacher recommended that I should give her rewards.
So I used this simple phrase, which worked wonders:
“If you go and brush your teeth now, we will have time to read three stories instead of just one.”
Whenever she heard it, she would jump up and brush her teeth right away.

When two people have troubles with each other, they often look to the law to decide who is right and who is wrong.
Laws exist so that there are guidelines for behavior ― what is the right thing to do and what is not right.
Unfortunately, as lawyer Peter Smith says in his book, the two sides in a court case can never really win.
The ones who “win” are the lawyers.
Even when one person is the “winner” in a court case, that person must pay his or her lawyers, must pay court costs, and suffers from bad feelings
― particularly the hostility of the other person in the case.
So Peter Smith suggests another solution that can save you from wasting time and money.

Big doors swing on little hinges.
Most of the time, we don't see small hinges.
We don't pay attention to them.
They're small and hidden.
Yet without them, the door would not function at all.
Our attitudes, too, are the little hinges on which the big doors of our lives swing.
We can't control life's negative circumstances
―the doubled commutes, long lines at the grocery, or late-night calls from marketers.
Those are life's invariables.
Yet we can do something to cope with them.
We can control how we relate to them.
It's a simple choice, a simple step you can take.
The right attitude will keep all the mechanisms of your life in top working order.
Choosing the right attitude will profoundly change your life.

The more technical the automation becomes, and the more quickly the world changes, the more we need information from just the right person arriving in our lives at just the right time.
You don't need a formal education to do that; just a niche you've created for yourself through self-education.

We probably all have discovered, at some time or another in our lives, the treasure hidden beneath a seeming misfortune, the silver lining behind the cloud, the blessing in disguise.
Through a relationship that doesn't work out, we accidentally meet the person who's right for us.
We get laid off from a job, only to find another that was far better suited to our talents and needs.
We break a leg, end up in the hospital for two weeks, and are able to catch up on all the reading, resting and visiting that we'd never had time for until our "terrible" accident.

Our relation to the books we come across in our lives is a mysterious one.
Some we fall in love with because they said the right things at the right time; others are lost to us forever because we were not ready for them when they crossed our paths and chance does not bring us into contact with them a second time.

Then I saw you hopping around some more.
Passing on the left, on the right, with and without signaling.
Each time, you gained three or four car lengths.
I was truly amazed at how you managed to use that entrance ramp as a means to pass traffic on the right―that must have been good for 10 car lengths.

"We say that the universe is expanding."
"What makes it do that?"
"Most astronomers agree that the expanding universe can only have one explanation: Once upon a time, about 15 billion years ago, all substance in the universe was assembled in a relatively small area.
The substance was so dense that gravity made it terrifically hot.
Finally it got so hot and so tightly packed that it exploded.
We call this explosion the Big Bang."
"Just the thought of it makes me shudder."
"The Big Bang caused all the substance in the universe to be expelled in all directions, and as it gradually cooled, it formed stars and galaxies and moons and planets..."
"But I thought you said the universe was still expanding?"
"Yes I did, and it's expanding precisely because of this explosion billions of years ago.
The universe has no timeless geography.
The universe is a happening.
The universe is an explosion.
Galaxies continue to fly through the universe away from each other at colossal speeds."
"Will they go on doing that for ever?"
"That's one possibility.
But there is another.
You may recall that Alberto told Sophie about the two forces that cause the planets to remain in constant orbit round the sun?"
"Weren't they gravity and inertia?
"Right, and the same thing applies to the galaxies.
Because even though the universe continues to expand, the force of gravity is working the other way.
And one day, in a couple of billion years, gravity will perhaps cause the heavenly bodies to be packed together again as the force of the huge explosion begins to weaken.
Then we would get a reverse explosion, a so-called implosion.
But the distances are so great that it will happen like a movie that is run in slow motion.
You might compare it with what happens when you release the air from a balloon."
"Will all the galaxies be drawn together in a tight nucleus again?"
"Yes, you've got it.
But what will happen then?"
"There would be another Big Bang and the universe would start expanding again.
Because the same natural laws are in operation.
And so new stars and galaxies will form."

I shall never forget the disgust I felt one day in the United States when I
heard quoted for the first time the well known words of an American soldier, "My
country, right or wrong."

A woman boarded an airliner after having obviously spent too must time in the
bar at the terminal. The stewardess, against her better judgement, complied with the
woman's request for a martini, but rejected a refill order minutes later. The incensed
passenger demanded, "What's your name, girl? I'm gonna report you!" "My name?"
said the stewardess. "Of course, it's right here." She pointed to the nameplate on her
uniform.
The passenger started at the nameplate. She blinked. She stared again. Then she
settled back in her seat in defeat. "Guess you're right," she muttered. "I can't read
it."

A doctor was in the bathroom of a lunatic asylum watching his mad patients
bathe. Suddenly one of them cried, "It's time for the doctor to bathe." Then another
cried,"Let's drown him!" On his crying, all in the bathroom gathered around the
doctor, with their eyes fixed on him. They insisted on his being drowned.
Seeing his danger, the doctor thought out a trick."All right,my lads," he said.
"But suppose now you give the doctor a good cheer before you drown him."
This reasonable proposition being at once agreed to, a loud cheer resounded
through the building. This unusual noise, needless to say, at once brought the
keepers to the bathroom.

Standing in front of a boutique, I noticed an impatient-looking young man
approach a very attractive woman. "Would you mind talking to me for a few
minutes?" he asked her.
"Why?" she countered suspiciously.
"My wife has been in this shop for a long time," the man explained.
"But I know she'll come right out if she sees me talking to you."
His wife joined him almost immediately.

So great is our passion for doing things for ourselves, that we are
becoming increasingly less dependent on specialized labor.
No one can plead ignorance of a subject any longer, for there are
countless do-it-yourself publications.
Armed with the right tools and materials, newly-weds gaily embark
on the task of decorating their own homes.
Men of all ages spend hours of their leisure time installing their own
fireplaces, laying out their own gardens; building garages and making
furniture.
Some really keen enthusiasts go so far as to build their own record
players and radio transmitters. Shops cater to the do-it-yourself
craze not only by running special advisory services for novices,
but by offering consumers bits and pieces which they can assemble
at home.
Such things provide an excellent outlet to pent-up creative energy, but
unfortunately not all of us are born handymen.

During the Second World War, Winston Churchill was the British Prime Minister.
One day he had to go to the British Broadcasting Corporation to make an
important speech to the nation.
An hour before the time of this speech, he stopped a taxi in the street
and asked the driver to take him to the BBC, but the taxi-driver, who
did not recognize him, said he could not take him anywhere just then,
because he wanted to go back to his home at the other end of London to
hear Churchill make a speech on the radio.
Churchill was so pleased when he heard this answer that he gave the man
a pound, which was worth quite a lot in those days.
"All right, get in," said the driver happily, opening the door of the
taxi. "I'll take you, and to hell with Churchill and his speech!

A:Pleased to meet you again.
B:Oh, the pleasure is mine. Haven't seen you for a long time.
A:Right. Shall we sit down somewhere and talk?
B:That will be fine.

I shall be free this afternoon. What time can you come?
Is one o'clock all right?
One o'clock will be fine.
Then I'll be there by one.
Good. I'll be expecting you.

Most scientists believe that by resting our bodies, we keep ourselves in
good physical condition. Any damage can be put right more quickly if
energy is not being used up doing other things. Injured animals certainly
spend more time asleep than usual while their wounds are healing. And
quite a few illnesses make us feel sleepy so that our body can get on
with curing us.

What are some difficulties of friendship? According to Mr. Sifford, the
greatest is that we tend to expect too much too soon. Deep relationships
take time. Another is that each wants to own the other. One is likely to
claim an almost total right to his friend's time and attention. However,
friendship requires action from each person. Unless you spend a
reasonable amount of time together, talking on the phone, writing
letters, and being together, friendship will go away. In brief, you must
give as much as you take.

Mr. Smith was driving his wife to the airport. "I'm terrified we might
not get there in time," she said anxiously. "Suppose the car breaks down
or we skid into a ramp or run over a dog ...?" "For heaven's sake,
stop worrying!" he replied. "We're all right so far, aren't we?"
"Yes, but...." "Then keep quiet and let me get on with the driving."
Mrs. Smith caught the plane.

- Wonderful Tonight sung by Eric Clapton
It's late in the evening
She is wondering what clothes to wear
She puts on her makeup
And brushes her long blonde hair
And then she asks me
"Do I look all right?"
And I say "Yes, you look wonderful tonight"
We go to a party
And everyone turns to see this beautiful lady
is walking around with me
And then she asks me "Do you feel all right?"
And I say "Yes,I feel wonderful tonight"
I feel wonderful
because I see the love light in your eyes
And the wonder of it all is
that you just don't realize how much I love you
It's time to go home now
And I've got an aching head
So I give her the car keys
And she helps me to bed
And then I tell her as I turn out the light
I say "My darling you're wonderful tonight
Oh, my darling you're wonderful tonight"

End of the Road - Boyz II Men
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
We belong together and you know that I'm right
Why do you play with my heart
Why do you play with my mind
You said we'd be forever, said it'd never die
How could you love me and leave me And never say
goodbye
When I can't sleep at night without holding you
tight
Girl, each time I try, i just break down and cry
Pain in my head, oh, I'd rather be dead
Spinning around and around
* Although we've come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you *
Girl I know you really love me
You just don't realize
You've never been there before
It's only your first time
Maybe I'll forgive you, maybe you'll try
We shouldn't be happy together forever
You and I
Will you love me again like you loved me before
This time I want you to love me much more
This time instead just come to my bed
And baby don't let me down

<<<<< PART-TIME LOVER >>>>>
Sung By Stevie Wonder
-
Call up, ring once hang up the phone
to let me know you made it home,
don't want nothing to be wrong with part-time lover
If she's with me, I'll blink the lights
to let you know tonight's the nights
for me and you, my part-time lover
We are under cover passion on the run,
chasing love, up against the sun
We are strangers by day, lovers by night
knowing it's so wrong, but feeling so right
If I'm with friends and we should meet
just pass me by, don't even speak
know the word's 'discreet' when part-time lovers

I heard from a friend today
And she said you were in town
Suddenly the memories came back to me in my mind
How can I be strong I've asked myself
Time and time I've said
That I'll never fall in love with you again
A wonderful heart you gave
My soul you took away
Good intention you had many
