Great idea, but not before we talk over a little business proposition, all right?

T : Let's get started. Where were we last class?
S1 : We learned the dialogue on page 40.
T : Have you all memorized it? Let's go over what we did last time.
Ss : Okay.
T : All right. Then, let's listen to it again.
Now, go on to Unit 5. Listen carefully to the tape.
S2 : Could you play it once more?
T : Sure. Here are some comprehension questions.
S3 : Do we have to do them?
T : I'm afraid you have to.

Mr. Kim and a flight attendant spent about fifteen minutes filling everything out together.
Mr. Kim finally handed in the forms.
After half an hour wait, the supervisor called him over and said,
“Unclaimed luggage usually comes in on the conveyor belt on your right,
but since it was broken today, all luggage is coming in downstairs at gate 5.
You can go down now; your bags are there.”
Mr. Kim thanked the supervisor, went downstairs, and finally got his luggage.
Mr. Kim

Reporter : What is the main role of your organization?
Mr. Kim : We gather opinions and requests from people and deliver them to the politicians.
And when we find some politicians not doing their jobs properly, we push them to do their best to fulfill their duties.
Reporter : Why did you choose to work here in Seoul?
Mr. Kim : Well, we talked over this issue for a long time.
And most of the members agreed that it would be better to have our office in the center of political power.
The decision was right and we'll stay here for a while.

In spite of the sensitive nature of the issue and various foreseeable problems,
it is still obvious that the nation needs to start debating on euthanasia.
The issue has seldom been discussed openly, but according to a recent opinion poll,
over 70 percent of the respondents approved of doctor-assisted suicide when it is considered necessary.
The Korean tradition of strong filial duties may be one factor that would make the debate more difficult.
The debate may also prove to be still more controversial when it involves those who are poor, elderly and incompetent.
Yet, it is also true that everyone has the right to a more peaceful and dignified death.
What is needed is an efficient system to prevent abuse.

Within five minutes someone is sitting next to me.
Two minutes later I have this strange feeling, like his eyes are wandering over my reading material.
I glance quickly to see if my hunch is right and, of course, it is.
I then feel that I should ask permission to turn the page.
Maybe my seatmate hasn't finished reading the article.

A yuppie was driving his new BMW convertible. He had the top down, his
right hand on the wheel and his left arm hanging over the door.
With the tape deck going full blast, he didn't notice the rust bucket
that pulled around to pass until it sideswiped him. The yuppie pulled
to a stop.
"My car!" he cried. "My beautiful car!"
When a policeman came by, the yuppie told him about the accident.
His car was a wreck, and it didn't even have 50 miles on it.
"You've got more to worry about than your car," the officer replied.
"You need an ambulance. Your arm is badly injured."
The yuppie looked at his arm and cried, "My Rolex watch―my beautiful
Rolex!"

As a real-estate agent, I had spent six months showing homes to one
young couple. At last I found two that they liked, but they couldn't
decide which to buy. The wife and I returned to the second house, and
she began wandering about for another look while I waited upstairs.
Eventually she told me they would take the first home.
I asked how she had made her decision. "I was standing in the family
room," the woman explained, "and I asked God to give me a sign. Right
then and there, a plane came zooming over on its flight path to the
airport, and I knew that wasn't the house for us."

MSF was begun by a small group of French doctors including B. Kouchner
back in 1971. Over the years, many doctors from around the world joined
the organization. The group quickly became known for its work in helping
the hungry and ill. They firmly believe that all those who need a
doctor's help, no matter where they are, have a right to get medical
care. They sometimes risk their lives to provide such care. The
organization won the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize for its work on several
continents since its foundation.

It was a math class. The day's lesson was on how to count. "All right,
Jack,"the teacher said to the first grader. "Let's see you count."
Holding out his hand, Jack counted off the numbers. "One, two, three,
four, five."Smiling, the teacher said, "Very good, but can you count any
higher ?" Jack was very glad to do it again in front of everyone.
Lifting his hand high over his head, the boy counted off the same numbers
without changing his voice. After Jack finished, the teacher said, "No,
Jack. I mean, continue counting from six."
Jack.

Mr. Smith was driving his wife to the airport. "I'm terrified we might
not get there in time," she said anxiously. "Suppose the car breaks down
or we skid into a ramp or run over a dog ...?" "For heaven's sake,
stop worrying!" he replied. "We're all right so far, aren't we?"
"Yes, but...." "Then keep quiet and let me get on with the driving."
Mrs. Smith caught the plane.

DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER
BEE GEES
Oh my heart won't believe that you have left me
I keep telling myself that it's true
I can get over anything you want my love
But I can't get myself over you
Don't forget to remember me and the love used to be
I still remember you
I love you in my heart lies a memory
To tell the stars above
Don't foeget to remember me my love
On my wall lies a photograph of you girl
Though I try to forget you someday
You're the mirror of my soul.So take me out of my whole
Let me try to go on leavin' right now

Brdige over troubled water
Simon & Gafunkel
When you're weary feelin' small

I'm on your side oh when times get rough
And friend just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water I'll lay me down.

And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water I'll lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water I'll lay me down.

Superwoman
Kyran White
Early in the morning
I put breakfast at your table
And make sure that your coffee
Has its sugar and cream
Your eggs are over easy your toast done lightly
All that's missing is your morning kiss
That used to greet me
-
Now you say the juice is sour
It used to be so sweet
And I can't help but wonder
If you're talking about me
We don't talk the way we used to talk
It's hurting so deep
I've got my price I will not cry
But it's making me weak
-
**
I'm not your superwoman
-
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down
And think that everything's okay
Boy I am only human
This girl needs more than an occasional hug
As token of love from you to me
-
I've found my way through the rush hour
Try to make it home just for you
I want to make sure
That your dinner will be waiting for you
But when you get there
You just tell me you're not hungry at all
You said you'd rather read the paper
And you don't want to talk
You like to think that I'm just crazy
When I say that you've changed
-
I'm convinced I know the problem
You don't love me the same
You're just going through the motions
And you're not being fair
I've got my pride
I will not cry
Still I can't help but care
-
** repeat twice
-
Look into the corners of your mind
I'll always be there for you
Through good and bad times
But I can't be that superwoman
That you want me to be
I'll give my love oh lasting love
If you really tell you're love to me
-
** repeat
-
If you feel it in your heart and you understand me
Stop right where you are
Everybody sing along with me
-
i'm the kind of girl
That can treat you so sweet
But you gotta realize
That you gotta be sweeter to me
I need love
I need just your love
-
** repeat

-

Crash Test Dummies
Once there was this kid
Who got into an accident
And couldn't come to school
But when he finally came back
His hair
ad turned
From black into bright white
He said that it as from when
The cars had smashed so hard

Once there was this girl
Who wouldn't go and change
Whithe the girls in the changeroom
But when they finally make her
They saw birthmarks all over her body
She couldn't quite explain it
They'd always just been there

But both girl and boy were glad
'Cause one kind had it worse than that
'Cause then there was this boy
Whose parent made him
Come directly home right after school
And when they went to their church
Thy shook and lurched
All over the church floor
He couldn't quite explain it
They'd always just gone there

Bridge Over Troubled Water -- Simon & Garfunkel
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'm take your part
Oh, when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
① down and out : 슬픔이나 괴로움으로 완전히 탈진한
② take one's part : ~의 짐을 들다, 지지하다
Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
And your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh, if you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Ms. Kim, would you like to go out for a drink with me after work?
Where are you headed? I'm on the way to the library.
Where have you been?
What did you do last weekend? I went to a football game.
Where did you go over the weekend?
I stopped by your place yesterday afternoon but you weren't there.
Did you manage all right?
It's good to see you again.
I haven't seen much of you lately.
You're a sight for eyes.
What brought you here?
I didn't expect to see you here.
We seem to run into each other often lately.
Our paths have finally crossed.
I just stopped by to say hello.
It's rather cold today, isn't it?
Yes, but the weather will turn out fairly warm tomorrow, I hear.

Needless to say, the bone of contention over euthanasia is whether people have the right to decide the matter of others' life and death, amid fears that the law could be wide open to abuse.
The new Dutch law insists patients must be adults, have made a voluntary, well-considered and lasting request to die, must be facing a future of unbearable suffering and must have no reasonable alternative.
A second doctor must be consulted, and life must be ended in a medically appropriate way.
It must be stressed that these legal requirements should be met with no exception.
All the possible supervisory measures should be taken to eliminate concerns about the abuse by doctors.

Most parents are willing to spend a lot of their money to send their kids to college, to get them piano, tennis and language lessons, to make sure they eat well and are safe.
There is little reason to think that the drive to do right by our kids will be any different if and when we are offered the chance to improve them genetically.
No one will have to fool us or force us―we will fall over one another to be first to give Junior a better set of genes.

There is nothing worse than driving on a two-lane road with a speed
limit of 40 mph and coming up behind someone going 25. You have to slow
down considerably, and it's frustrating when that driver will neither
speed up nor pull over. On highways where there are more lanes, slow
drivers should move to the right and let the faster drivers pass them.

A: Hello, darling. How are you?
B: Terrible, Mum. My back is killing me, the children are behaving
badly, the house is so untidy―and I'm expecting six guests for dinner.
A: Don't worry, darling. I'm coming right over to help you.
B: You're an angel! How's Dad?
A: Dad? ...... Sweetheart, you know Dad died nine years ago.
B: What number are you calling?.
A: 707-5869.
B: This is 707-5868.
A: Oh no, I dialed the wrong number.
B: Hold on, please. Does this mean you are not coming over?
A: 여보세요, 얘야.
A: 707-5869.

Over millennia, rain and ice carved the rock into a landscape of spires and canyons.

Do you know what it's like to grow up with someone who is critical of every single thing you say?
...I can imagine.
I'm telling you, it's a wonder your mother turned out to be the positive, life-affirming person that she is.
That is a wonder. So tell me something, Mom.
If you had to do it all over again, I mean, if she was here right now, would you tell her?
Tell her what?
How she drove you crazy, picking on every little detail, like your hair... for example.
I'm not sure I know what you're getting at.
Do you think things would have been better if you'd just told her the truth?
...No.
I think some things are better left unsaid. I think it's nicer when people just get along.

It's all over the news. Right before he reached Macy's, he broke free and was spotted flying over Washington Square Park. I'm goin' to the roof, who's with me?

I loved the moment when you first saw the giant dog shadow all over the park.
Yeah, but did they have to shoot him down? I mean, that was just mean.
Ok, right about now the turkey should be crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.

Hey, can we get some cappuccino over here?
Oh, right, that's me!

I think she took it pretty well. You know Paolo's over there right now, so...

I know, I mean, why can't parents just stay parents?
(She walks over near Chandler and his gaze stays very obviously on her chest) Why do they have to become people? Why do they have (Notices Chandler) Why can't you stop staring at my breasts?
What?
(Looks up) What?
Did you not get a good enough look the other day?
Alright, alright.
We're all adults here, there's only one way to resolve this. Since you saw her boobies, I think, uh, you're gonna have to show her your peepee.
Y'know, I don't see that happening?
C'mon, he's right. Tit for tat.
Well I'm not showing you my 'tat.'

I've been thinking.
Y'know, about how I'm always seeing girls on top of girls
Are they end to end, or tall like pancakes?
Y'know what I mean, about how I'm always going out with all these women.
And I always figured, when the right one comes along, I'd be able to be a stand-up guy and go the distance, y'know?
Now I'm looking at my dad, thinking
Hey, you're not him.
You're you. When they were all over you to go into your father's pipe-fitting business, did you cave?
No.
-아니
No.
You decided to go into the out-of-work actor business. Now that wasn't easy, but you did it!

you know, you keep sayin' that, but there's somethin' right here.
I love you.
Oh, I love you too. But...
