Conservatism:
(진보주의)에 대립되는 개념. historical conservatism(역사적 보수주의)과
psychological conservatism(심리적 보수주의) 등으로 나눌 수 있다.
구질서를 지키고자 했던 영국의 progressivism(점진주의), 독일 낭만파의

A cataclysm such as the French Revolution affects all countries.

For some years Benedict Arnold served heroically in the American Revolution, but then he disgraced his name for all time by an infamous act of treason.

France had an absolute monarchy until the Revolution.

It is hard for us to realize that the great men who led the American Revolution were considered renegades by supporters of the British king.

When Jan van Eyck began painting, it was common for artists to use paints called tempera, which had egg yolk as one of the ingredients.
Artists liked tempera because it dried quickly and made very bright colors, even though it had some disadvantages
―for example, artists could not paint tiny details with it.
Therefore, when Jan learned new ways to use oil paints that had oil as a main ingredient, it was like a revolution in painting.
By using this oil paint, painters were able to express the light glowing on furniture or on people's skins.
They were able to show silk or velvet so that viewers could almost feel the material by looking at the painting.
Jan van Eyck

The present United States stretches, east to west, from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.
These two great oceans seem to be the natural east-west boundaries of the country that one sometimes gets the impression that the United States always existed in its present form.
Yet, as we well know, this is not the case.
The United States began as a rather narrow section of territory along the Atlantic coast.
Later, with victory in American Revolution, the country's boundaries were extended as far as the Mississippi River.
This was the first step in the country's growth.
The second great step was the Louisiana Purchase.
By this purchase, the country was suddenly doubled in size.

Marx, after stirring up a few revolutions, decided to spend the remainder of his days in the British Museum.

As early as 1787 the Enlightenment philosopher Condorcet published a treatise on the rights of women.
He held that women had the same 'natural rights' as men.
During the French Revolution of 1789, women were extremely active in the fight against the old feudal regime.
For example, it was women who led the demonstrations that forced the king away from his palace at Versailles.
Women's groups were formed in Paris.
In addition to the demand for the same political rights as men, they also demanded changes in the marriage laws and in women's social conditions.

The most important such change, however, was the Industrial Revolution of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Its profound effect on the pattern of social and economic life has shaped the modern world, formed the basis of economic progress, and laid the foundation for the increasing wealth of nations.
Social and economic life, which had changed relatively little before the Industrial Revolution, now began to change rapidly.
Indeed, this process of rapid change has continued to the present day.
It has become the norm in our own postindustrial society.

During the later years of the American Revolution, the Articles of Confederation government was formed.
This government suffered severely from a lack of power.
Each state distrusted the others and gave little authority to the central or federal government.
The Articles of Confederation produced a government which could not raise money from taxes, prevent Indian raids, or force the British out of the United States.

Don't be surprised if you start hearing the term "Information literacy" a lot.
The digital revolution means that sooner or later students and adults are going to need an entirely new set of skills: how to get information, where to find it, and how to use it.
Becoming good at handling information is going to be one of the most important skills of the twenty-first century, not just in school but in the real world.
Thus you are going to have to master these skills eventually anyway.
So deal with them now.

It was the great message of the French Revolution to proclaim the
doctrine of the "rights of man" as applying to all men simply
because they are men, and not only to some men because of some
special
superiority or prestige.

An authentic proletarian revolution had risen, just as Marx had predicted,
only to be put down by the guns of the oppressor class: the Communists themselves.

However Solidarity's revolution may ultimately run its course, the movement
brought the heady taste of a new life to the Poles.

Darwin, after going round the world, spent the whole of the rest of his life in his
own house. Marx, after stirring up a few revolutions, decided to spend the remainder
of his days in the British Museum. Altogether it will be found that a quiet life is
characteristic of great men and that their pleasures have not been of the sort that would
look exciting to the outward eye.

At 52, he was the chief hope of continuity for the Islamic revolution,
whose terrifying politics have split Iran into bitter and contending factions.

Admirals and generals do not win war. Presidents do. Consider: Washington(the
nearest thing we had to a President during the Revolution), Lincoln, Wilson and
Franklin Roosevelt.

* the nearest thing we had to a President the Revolution:

When recombinant DNA ignited the genetic revolution in 1973, scientists
and businessmen were attracted by its near miraculous medical potential. But
today, with impending food shortages and vanishing arable land, gene splicing
is moving down to the farm.

"They are aiming at the whole of Central and possibly later South America
and, I'm sure, eventually North America. What we're doing is trying to stop
this destabilizing force of guerrilla warfare and revolution from being
exported in here."

Many women, rather than join the computer revolution, have (hammered out)
peace pacts with their mates. In Palo Alto, Calif., a woman who spent five years
with an Atari programmer finally imposed a 15-minute limit on uninterrupted talk
about his work.

He also began to speak of himself with such third person grandiloquence
as, "MacArthur has decided to go into active command in the field.
There is incipient revolution in the air."

In fact, the only revolution turned out to be the New Deal, and Roosevelt's brain
trusters regarded MacArthur with as much suspicion as he did them.

*sweep away 완전히 없애다 remove or destroy completely:
All these ancient privileges will be swept away when the revolution comes.

The revolution, in itself, bore no fruit after all.

Yes, ma'am. A report on the French revolution.

Men's clothes will continue to vary only slightly and within a narrow
range depending on where they work. There are, to be sure, regional
differences in what are considered suitable clothes. It is in the leisure
or sports clothes that the greatest revolution has taken place. Last year
the number of sports coats that were sold increased from 12.5 million to
13.4 million. Now, let us turn to the changes in the other sex's
fashions.

Except at rare intervals of intellectual ferment, education in the past has been radically infected with inert ideas.
That is the reason why uneducated clever women, who have seen much of the world, are in middle life so much the most cultured part of the community.

Then, alas, with pathetic ignorance of human psychology, it has proceeded by some educational scheme to bind humanity afresh with inert ideas of its own fashioning.

During the American Revolution, Mary Goddard continued to publish
Baltimore's only newspaper, which one historian claimed was "second to
none among the colonies." She was also the city's postmaster from 1775
to 1789 ― appointed by Benjamin Franklin ― and is considered to be the
first woman to hold a federal position.

After the peak year of 1957, the birth rate in Canada began to decline.
It continued falling until in 1966 it stood at the lowest level in 25
years. Partly this decline reflected the low level of births during the
depression and the war, but it was also caused by changes in Canadian
society. Young people were staying at school longer; more woman were
working; young married couples were buying automobiles or houses before
starting families; rising living standards were cutting down the size of
families. It appeared that Canada was once more falling in step with the
trend toward smaller families that had occurred all through the Western
world since the time of the Industrial Revolution.

The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen from
about 280 parts per million (ppm) before the Industrial Revolution to
360 ppm today; it threatens to go to 560 in the next century. The world
has already warmed about 1 degree Fahrenheit over the last century.
Because sea-
water expands when heated, oceans have risen four to ten inches. Could
this reflect natural climate swings? Anything is possible. Over the past
10,000 years, though, century-to-century variability has seldom been
this high.

Decades before the American Revolution of 1776, Jesse Fish, a native New

unpleasant family situation.

An electronic funds transfer system-called E.F.T. in banking circles-is
replacing the paperwork in banking processes. With its use of computers to carry
out financial transactions, E.F.T. is changing the way people pay bills and may
eliminate the necessity for carrying cash. But there is a snag in this
technological revolution, and that is the reluctance of consumers to change
their habits. Regardless of whether or not consumers like it, bankers are
determined to fully implement the new system. The full use of E.F.T.
nevertheless may be a quarter century away.

If you look at what people, who have a positive perspective on the semiconductor industry, are talking about, it is the 4th industrial revolution.

As the 4th industrial revolution has recently attracted political attention with the "technology" issue, it is also necessary to analyze the impact of technology on the economy and the market.

Examples include key technology companies in the fourth industrial revolution, such as AI, big data, and the Internet of Things, and also the general data industry in the financial sector other than the credit information industry and ICT technology providers needed in the process of performing the financial industry.

"New challenges and tests, such as accelerating financial innovation based on the fourth industrial revolution technology and challenges to find new revenue sources, will continue to show up, but there will also be opportunities for new leaps if we respond flexibly and quickly," he explained.

In particular, the industry explained that after the COVID-19 incident, the Untact culture, including telecommuting and online education, will spread and the fourth industrial revolution will be further promoted, making it an opportunity to buy Samsung Electronics at a low price.

"I think digital transformation is at the core of the fourth industrial revolution," said Park Soo-yong, president of the society, adding, "The work of the real world is gradually moving to the digital world, and the underlying technology of this phenomenon is blockchain."

As the 4th industrial revolution gradually accelerates, related innovative companies will lead the megatrends in the market for the next 20 to 30 years, said Kim Tae-woo, CEO of KTB Management, explaining, "We will introduce new funds based on the stable performance of the existing target conversion funds and the positive stock price prospects."

An analysis have appeared that the record-breaking straight purchasing of stocks by individual investors, even called the "Donghak Ant Revolution" will positively affect economic growth.

However, in the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the argument that artificial intelligence (AI) should be introduced as it spreads to industrial sites began to gain momentum.

Chairman Yoon insisted that Zero Pay is suitable for the 4th industrial revolution as well as reducing card fees.

As uncertainties in the global economy grow and the overall paradigm of finance changes due to the technological development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it has been argued that the insurance industry should also actively utilize it to overcome the crisis.

By the way, refusing this and talking about the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution is, in my opinion, does not make any sense.

On the other hand, a fund manager said, "The 4th Industrial Revolution stock has risen for a while, and recently, as cyclical sales have risen rapidly, such as a sharp rebound in stocks related to economic normalization, fund managers are also struggling, it is not easy to keep up with the market."

In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, cooperation and networks are sources of competitiveness, Chairman Kim pointed out, saying, "For small and medium-sized companies that already lack management resources, the ordinance on fostering cooperatives can be a turning point to jointly produce, purchase and sell and systematically promote technology development."

He is also active in external activities such as serving as the head of the R&D division of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and the chairman of the Digital Healthcare Special Committee under the Presidential Fourth Industrial Revolution Committee.

Director Lee said, "With the era of the 4th industrial revolution coming and the commercialization of fifth generation (5G) mobile communications, the medical environment is changing rapidly," adding, "The convergence research has also become active as the three-dimensional (3D) printing, big data, and medical applications have begun."

It is estimated that if COVID-19 infection situation prolongs, the pace of the patient-centered medical revolution will be accelerated.

With artificial intelligence (AI) emerging as the core of the fourth industrial revolution, many companies and researchers at home and abroad are also coming forward to develop services that incorporate AI in the bio-health sector.

``I don't know if they have heard the first shot of the digital
