He remarked (to me) that it was a masterpiece.

Everybody in the world is seeking happiness―and there is one sure way
to find it. That is by controlling your thoughts. Happiness doesn't
depend on outer conditions. It depends on inner conditions.
It isn't what you have or what you are or where you are or what you are
doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.
For example, two people may be in the same place, doing the same thing;
both may have about an equal amount of money and prestige―and yet one
may be miserable and the other happy. Why? Because of a different mental
attitude. I saw just as many happy faces among the Chinese coolies
sweating and toiling in the devastating heat of China for seven cents
a day as I see on Park Avenue.
"Nothing is good or bad," said Shakespeare, "but thinking makes it so."
Abe Lincoln once remarked, "Most folks are about as happy as they make
up their minds to be."

He remarked that he would be absent the next day.

*cynical 냉소적인 sneering; contemptuous:
비웃는 말 a cynical remark

*saying 속담; 격언 remark commonly made; well-known phrase:
"More haste, less speed," as the saying goes.

*sagacious 현명한 showing good judgement, common sense or intelligence:
현명한 말 a sagacious remarks

*interject 남의 말에 끼여들다 make (a sudden remark) between other remarks:
"I don't agree at all!" he interjected.

*address 연설하다 direct speech or writing to (a person or group):
She addressed her remarks particularly to the young people in the crowd.

acrimonious ADJ. bitterness; caustic.
The acrimonious remarks of his opponent enraged him.

animadversion N. a critical remark.

matters.

Our records confirm that the $8,500.00 was indeed paid to your account
#066011 of the Chemical Bank in New York by bank remitance on June 29,

His remark is open to misunderstanding.

Smart aleck remarks do not become you.

Forgive my rude remarks.

A child will often ask for approval openly. "Look at my painting! Isn't
it pretty?" But adults are generally less honest about their need for
support. A grown-up who tried his or her best at something isn't likely
to ask. "Didn't I do a good job?" But the adult needs to hear it all the
same. In other words, children and adults alike want to hear positive
remarks. Therefore, don't forget to praise others when they need support.

A schoolgirl went to a famous musician's concert. The concert lasted for
an hour. When it was over, she applauded his passionate performance and
clapped for a long time. Then at the stage door the girl asked the
violinist for his autograph. "Sorry, not now." he replied impatiently,
"My hands are tired." "Instead of taking offense, the schoolgirl
replied, "My hands are tired, too ! " This witty remark defeated the
musician. So she got the autograph, and the two parted good friends !

It is natural for people to express support for candidates of their choice and criticize political rivals.
If they dislike remarks made about a certain topic, they can criticize them any time, but it should only be done in proper and legal ways.
The reality is that there is no means of filtering online mudslinging, curses or false allegations.
Netizens are required to maintain etiquette with a sense of responsibility and to make efforts to make cyberspace safe.

It is commonly believed in the United States that school is where people
go to get an education. Nevertheless, it has been said that today
children interrupt their education to go to school. The distinction
between schooling and education implied by this remark is important.

버블을 주도해 왔다고 할 수 있는 VC(Venture Capitalists)의 증언이다.

Over the past year, such ``cybersmear'' lawsuits have been filed in
Silicon Valley courts in unprecedented numbers by companies ranging from
Sun Microsystems Inc. and E*Trade to Ross Stores.

Since September, John Doe and other members of the Doe clan have been
sued more than a dozen times in Santa Clara County Superior Court,
usually for remarks posted on Internet message boards run by companies
like Yahoo Inc.

And companies aren't the only ones filing John Doe suits -- a judge in
Pittsburgh filed a lawsuit recently to get the identity of individuals
posting negative remarks about her in an Internet message group devoted
to local politics. The ACLU is defending the Doe in that case.
