During her speech, Fiorina showed off a new Internet-enabled watch made
by Swatch, a Swiss maker of quirky timepieces. The Dick Tracy-type
device allows a user to access e-mail and receive news alerts.

It's unclear how close the watch is to becoming a real product since HP
declined to say when it would be released or how much it would cost.

The renegade Linux operating system will be in the spotlight again this
week when two related companies, the much-anticipated VA Linux Systems
Inc. and Andover.Net., go public.
Both companies are well-known in the quirky Linux community and among
software developers.
