Several years ago we bought a huge house, more than 200 years old.
In the house there was a room with a very old piano in it.
It was out of tune.
Most of the keys didn't even work.
One night, I was in the house alone.
Suddenly I heard piano music.
It was in perfect tune, coming from the piano room.
To get to the room, I had to go through several unlit rooms and hallways.

과거형이지만 현재의 사실에 반대되는
가정을 나타 낼 때 쓴다. 즉, I am sorry I can't play any musical
instrument와
같은 뜻이다.
