autonomic nervous system (자율신경계) 신체 전반에 있는 평활근과 선조직에 관여하는 말
초신경계의 일부분이다. 이것은 운동 (원심성)계이며, 대부분의 활성이 의식 수준 이하에서
자동적으로 기능을 한다. 자율신경계는 전신경절 세포체 (preganglionic cell body)의 위치에
따라 교감신경계 (sympathetic system)와 부교감신경계 (parasympathetic system)로 나뉘어
진다.
parasympathetic nervous system (부교감신경계) 동의어=craniosacral division. 뇌간과 천골
척수의 가운데 3분절에 있는 전신경절 세포체로부터 시작하는 자율신경계의 부분이다. 제3,
7, 9뇌신경의 부교감신경은 두부에 분포하고, 제10뇌신경은 척추전 신경총을 통해 흉부와 복
부의 내장에 분포하며, 골반 신경 (pelvic nerve)은 자율신경 섬유를 하복부 신경총
(hypogastric plexus)를 통해 대부분의 대장과 골반의 장기, 성기에 분포시킨다.
parasympathomimetic : 1. producing effects resembling those of stimulation of the
parasympathetic nerve supply to a part. 2. an agent that produces effects similar to
those produced by stimulation of the parasympathetic nerves. Called also cholinergic.
