----------------------------------------------------------
Is that so ? / Is that right ? / How interesting ! /
Really ? / That's news to me. / I didn't know that./
What ? / No kidding ! / You must be kidding ! /
You don't say. / Come on ! / Give me a break ! /
----------------------------------------------------------
" Is that so ? "/ " Is that right ? "/ " How interesting! "
때에는, " Oh, are you ? " / " Oh, doesn't he ?
예를 들어, " I am worn out.
Oh,are you ? "
He doesn't know the ABC of English."
라는 말에 " Oh,doesn't he ?"
That's news to me. " / " I didn't know that. "
" What ? " / " No kidding. "
미국인이 많이 쓰는 표현 중에 " Give me a break !

Some time ago, a few of my friends and I went I to the beach by bus.
Somehow on that day I felt that I did not want to get wet.
I did not know why, but I had no wish to go swimming.

I just wanted to relax and see the waves break on the seashore.

Linda was walking home from work one day last month, when she saw a man who was trying to break into a car.
She asked him what he was doing.
Then he said to her, "Get lost!"
She ran to a nearby shop and asked the owner to call the police, which he did immediately.
When she went outside again, she saw that both the thief and the car had gone.
About ten minutes later, a police car came.
Linda gave a description of the thief.
She said that he looked about twenty-five years old.
A few days later she found out that the thief had been caught and that the car had been returned to its owner, undamaged.
Linda was glad to be able to help.
Linda

When my grandmother began to have problems in seeing, hearing and walking, a number of family meetings were held.
We discussed what we should do for her.
We talked of placing her in a nursing home, but that idea was quickly given up.
Although my grandmother would be with more people of her own age, she would see even less of her family, and that would break her heart.
Mother would not allow her own mother to grow old and weak in a strange place.
She said, “I will not let Grandmother end up in a nursing home,”
and I admire my mother greatly for this decision.
It was not an easy decision for her.
When so many others are running away from the problem of what they should do about their old parents, my mother stands out remarkably.

End of the road
Boyz II man
We belong together and you know that I'm right
Why do you play with my heart
Why do you play with my mind
You said we'd be forever, said it's never die
How could you love me and leave me
And never say good bye
When I can't sleep at night
Without holding you tight
Girl, each time I try, I just break down and cry
Pain in my head, oh, I'd rather be dead
Spinning around and around
**
Although we've come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you
Come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you
-
Girl I know you really love me
You just don't realize
You've never been there before
It's only your first time
Maybe I'll forgive you, maybe you'll try
We shouldn't be happy together forever
You and I
Will you love me again like you loved me before
This time I want you to love me much more
This time instead just come to my bed
And baby don't let me down
-
** repeat
-
Girl I'm here for you
I'm not out to go out there and cheat all night
Just like you did baby, but that's all right
Huh, I love you anyway
And I'm still going to be here for you
Till my dying day, baby
Right now I'm just in so much pain, baby
'Cause you just won't come back to me, will you ?
Just come back to me
-
Yes, baby my heart is lonemy
My heart hurts baby
Yes, I feel pain, too
Baby please

Even most people are as clueless about why they have certain feelings as they are about how their lungs work.
But fear is the one aspect of anxiety that's easy to recognize.
Rats freeze in place.
Humans break out in a cold sweat.
Heartbeats race, and blood pressure rises.
That gives scientists something they can control and measure.

The floor of Lake Malawi drops 700 metres into an abyss.
Here, in this dead zone the larvae of lake fly midges hide out away from predators.
In the rainy season they balloon up to the surface
and undergo a magical transformation.
At dawn the first adult midges START to break out.
Soon, millions upon millions of newly hatched lake flies are taking to the wing.

That was my agent. My agent has just gotten me a job...in the new Al Pacino movie!
Oh my God! Whoah!
/ Well, what's the part?
Can you believe this? Al Pacino!
This guy's the reason I became an actor! "I'm out of order? Pfeeeh. You're out of order! This whole courtroom's out of order!"
Seriously, what-what's the part?
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
C'mon, seriously, Joey, what's the part?
..You're, you're 'mah mah mah' what?
...I'm his butt double. 'Kay?
I play Al Pacino's butt. Alright?
He goes into the shower, and then- I'm his butt.
Oh my God.
/ C'mon, you guys.
This is a real movie, and Al Pacino's in it, and that's big!
Oh no, it's terrific, it's... it's... y'know, you deserve this, after all your years of struggling, you've finally been able to crack your way into showbusiness.
Okay, okay, fine! Make jokes, I don't care! This is a big break for me!

Ok, I'm makin' a break for it, I'm goin' out the window.

Use the monstrosity. It's freezing out.
You break it in.

I don't suppose you have anything single-malt back there.
Frank, it's worth every penny to see you on keg duty.
Well, then don't you think this is worth just a few extra pennies?
Oh, let's break out the checkbook, Charles.

How'd you get in here?
You still keep the spare key behind the loose brick on the porch.
You break into my house? You scare my kids like that?
We gotta talk, Paul.
We talked last night.
Now get out.
I can convince these people, but I need your help.
Leave my house.
Sit down.
I don't want to have to hurt you
with my children upstairs, Petey.
Then help me.

Rick, help me get out of here.
How? This place is like a prison.
People break out of prison all the time.
Look, Gaines said he'd let me go after I'd buried Dan.
Now, once I'm out of here, I'll call your dad and tell him where you are.
Great plan, except you're not gonna get out.
- Gaines won't let you go. - He's got no reason to stop me.
- He doesn't need me any more. - Exactly.

I don't understand the rationale behind it. No, listen to me. Why?
Why defend something that you don't need to defend?
Maureen won't come out with the story today.
- She will. - We don't know that.
Look, if not now, tomorrow.
If not her, someone else. Our son is accused of murder.
The story's too big to hide.
He's right, Sherry. We need to control when and how this story comes out.
One hour ago someone tried to kill my husband.
That bought us time and we should use it.
The assassination attempt might even work for us if we break the story about Keith.
It might put the public in a more forgiving frame of mind.
- You're making a mistake. - It's mine to make.
No, it isn't, David, because you didn't get here by yourself.
Do not go against me on this, Sherry.
Promise me.
I can't promise you anything.

You don't even know if he's the right Ted Cofell.
Every time we talk you go further out on a limb.
From the second they were taken, tell me what I could have done differently.
I don't know. I guess you're right. But I don't know how much longer I can cover for you.
Nina, please. Just focus and stay calm. I need you right now.
Cofell won't be easy to break. I need your help.
You want an interrogation profile in what, 15 minutes?
I'll give you about five.
Nina, if I can't break Cofell, I won't be able to find my family. Do you understand?
- I'll do what I can. - Thank you.
I'm gonna look for a place to lay low for a while. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Let's get out of here. Breakfast is on me...
Sorry to break up your party, but I need grave to pull a double.

This better be good.
I need some assurances.
It's a two way street, pal. Did you do what I asked?
I checked out the evidence, yeah. but I'm not sure about the rest.
What's the big deal.
You break the seal on the evidence box, it's over.
We put it to bed... I tell Henderson,
mission accomplished.
Why don't you let me do that.

I was kinda taking a break.
Hanging out in this PT Cruiser.
I was layin' back in the heated driver's seat when I heard the siren.
Put your hands on the wheel.
I didn't do it!
Whatever you think I did.
Man, I'm looking at three strikes. I'm not going back.
- Just let me show you my registration. - No! Hands on the wheel!
And just like that, the officer fired?
Just like that.
Missing bullet. Eyewitness.
목격자

Mr. Hendler, at any time, was your fishtank over here?
Maybe. A while ago.
Why?
id it ever overflow or break?
Not that I recall.
You said I could look anywhere, right.
Yeah.

Got a pocket knife?
What are you doing?
Pops out.
Pops in.
What do you find inside an hourglass?
Mr. Hendler, I think the tank was over here,
I think it broke
I think you got water and artificial sand all over the place...

Excuse me.
So, did I like, break the law by not reporting it?
But it's a good idea that when your house is robbed,
you report that your registered gun was stolen.
Guy's story checks out.
He was robbed. / Yeah, look!
My wife. She's not real comfortable about having
a gun in the house ever since we had our boy.
And I told her that I got rid of it, but I never did.
I mean, man, the last thing I ever expected was it'd be used in a murder.
Well, we're going to keep your name on ice for a while.
Thanks for your time.
Hey thanks, right on.

What ever happened to that fingernail Catherine found at the crime scene?
I got the DNA results right here.
First things first, not a match to Patrick Haynes.s.
I never figured a man for the fingernail, Greg.
Okay, but here's where you break out your can of creep repellent.
The fingernail and the semen share half of DNA markers in common.
Possible first-degree relatives?

Get your hands off me. Get your hands off me.
I went to see and try to break it up.
Just back off man, back off.
Get your sorry ass off of my property.
Out back here? / Yes.

What I find interesting is that she keeps
them near the door, not in the office.
In case she needs to break out and go do some work.
Maybe she makes house calls.

I checked, believe me. She didn't.
The only injury I could find on this little girl was a fractured forearm.
Spiral or straight?
X rays just came back. Let's see.
Spiral. That's not from a fall.
Somebody twisted that little girl's arm hard enough to break it.
imortem?
Swelling takes at least two to four minutes of active circulation.
There's no swelling, so it had to happen moments before she died.
So someone did yank her out of that car in the dark.

Okay, I got to break the ice here.
So you're in counseling. Big deal.
You want humiliation? I'll give you humiliation.
I locked myself out of my house stark naked and got caught by Mike.
Oh, my god. When did this happen?
Today, right before the party.
What can I say? Right place, right time.
I think I can top that. Try getting thrown out of disneyland for lewd behavior.

Excuse me.
We got a call. Something about a break-in.
One of your neighbors reported seeing someone forcing his way into your home.
We sent some guys out to investigate, and, uh...
w-what is it?
I got to tell you, ma'am,
I thought I'd seen a lot on the job, but this is something else.
So let me get this straight.
He chopped down one of our pine trees?
I'm afraid so.

You had marital amnesia. No. I bared my soul to you last night.
It’s not enough. How can that not be enough?
When you waited 2 months to tell me
and I had to find out by her showing up.
All leggy and fabulous and telling me herself.
You pulled the plug. I’m a sink with an open drain.
Anything you say runs right out. There is no enough.
She probably could have picked a better metaphor.
Give her a break. She’s got a hang over.

You’re officially A.W.O.L. you know.
I’m working. Trying to figure out what’s going on with crazy woman on four.
You are the crazy woman on four. I made a break of freedom. Hand me that dictionary.
You have a better patient than me and you don’t even have a patient.

And what does he do with that information?
He stretches out the spill as long as he can.
- That's ratings driving content. - That's just reality.
- Reese. - No, I need to be able to do my job.
Just don't break down the numbers for Will.

We've never gotten along that well, have we?
Reese, don't break down the numbers for Will.
If I hid in a locked vault buried under the AWM building,
Will would find me so I could break down the numbers for him
because Will McAvoy is the biggest ratings whore in the business.
- I'm not the bad guy. - Nobody's the bad guy.
Though if you call Will a whore again,
I'm going to take out your teeth one punch at a time.

Terry, I don't know how you're gonna follow Kyle, but give it a try.
We're out.
Hey, you want to give me a break?
- I'm sorry. - Jesus.
It was a joke.

Will, we're going to push the commercial break.
A small protest broke out in front of a newspaper office
where Scott Walker is right now.
So we're cutting the feed. Tap your pen if you understand.

They were delivered for you this morning.
Jim signed for them and looked at the card,
which you can see isn't in an envelope.
Jim signed for them?
He said Maggie didn't see. She wasn't around.
Maggie and I have broken up a lot in the last year and a half.
I've--
나도..
I've gotten that sense.
- When we break up-- - You go out with other women.
Isn't that what I'm supposed to do?
- I'm not judging you. - Then we get back together.

[John's Diary]
The 2 minutes felt like 2 hours! I hurried out of the station
and ran towards the theater. I crashed into an oncoming lady.
A pile of papers the lady was holding dropped and scattered
everywhere. I apologized again and again, and broke into a
run. Well, today would not have been complete without so many
people on the street! The crowds added to the absurdity of it
all. It was disgustingly hot and humid, as usual. I finally
got to the theater and saw a never-ending line of people.
1. Hurried out of the station: Hurry
명사로 써서 in a hurry를 쓸 수도 있습니다.
I ran out of the station in a hurry.
2. Crashed into an oncoming lady: Crash
Hey, are you driving towards my house?
Nope. I'm driving INTO your house.
I'm not ready for the oncoming shockwave of societal
transformation.
3. Broke into a run: Break
He broke into a smile when he heard it.
His voice broke.
4. Today would not have been complete without so many people
Today would not have been complete without a construction in
the middle of the road!
5. The crowds added to the absurdity of it all: 하필이면
His father's death added to his misery.
6. Disgustingly hot and humid:

7. Never-ending line of people: Never-ending story
He gave me a "who-the-hell-are-you" look.
He looked at me as if to say "who the hell are you."
