But the distances are so great that it will happen like a movie that is run in slow motion.

The story goes that Alfred once took refuge in the cottage of a poor
peasant. The good wife was left in ignorance of his identity and therefore had
little time for this seemingly idle fellow. For Alfred spent his time gazing
into the fire and dreaming of further plans to defeat the Danes. Called upon
some errand, the good wife drew his attention to some cakes which were baking in
front of the fire, and told him that he must watch them carefully during her
absence. Alas! So preoccupied was the English king that the good wife found, on
her return, nothing but a few remains of her cakes. Whereupon, the angry woman
seized the royal hair and proceeded to scold him severely. So runs the story.
Whether it is truth or legend we cannot confirm.

돌아와 보니 그 빵은 거의 다 타버리고 몇 조각 밖에 남아있지 않았다.
그러자, 화가 난 그 여인은 왕의 머리채를 붙잡고 그를 호되게 꾸짖었다.
얘기의 내용은 이렇다. 이것이 사실인지 전설인지는 확인할 수 가 없다.

Once upon a time, a mean old mountaineer fell sick and died. As the
deceased was being carried from the house, one man bearing the coffin
stumbled, causing the coffin to strike violently into a gate-post.
The knock somehow revived the old mountaineer, who sat up yelling at
everyone in sight.
The man lived for over a year and was as mean as ever. Then he got
sick and died again. Once more the body was put in the coffin. As the
people bearing the coffin, walked by, the long-suffering widow lifted
her head and said, "Watch out for that gate-post!"

was a terrible storm. In the morning, Munira walked along the beach
looking for seashells. Suddenly, she saw her lost brother Amin! He was

Once upon a time there was a great flood, and involved in this flood were two creatures, a monkeys and a fish. The monkey, being agile and experienced, was lucky enough to scramble up a tree and escape the raging waters.
