As a product demonstrator, my mother had to promote a diet beverage in
a supermarket. During the first two days she was indisposed, so she asked
her sister to substitute for her. Back on the job the third day, she
noticed two salesgirls walking past several times.
They looked at her, then shook their heads skeptically. Finally my mother
asked them what they found so odd. "This must be a real miracle drink
you're offering," they replied. "Amazing, how much weight you've lost
in only two days!"
My mother and her sister look very much alike, but my aunt is about
30 pounds heavier.
