S1 : Not bad, Mr. Kim.
T : Can you hear in the back?
S2 : No, Mr. Kim. Is it at the maximum?

Not being able to fall asleep after going to bed at night or waking up too early in the morning is usually called insomnia.
In teenagers, insomnia is so frequent that it is almost "normal."
For some reason, teens fall asleep later than they did as children.
For example, if a child was used to going to bed at 8 p.m., a teen probably is not ready for sleep until 11 p.m.
No wonder so many teenagers complain of not being able to fall asleep and then feeling tired at school the next morning.

I wonder how many people give up just when success is almost within reach.
They endure day after day, and just when they're about to make it, decide they can't take any more.
The difference between success and failure is not that great.
Successful people have simply learned the value of staying in the game until it is won.
Those who never make it are the ones who quit too soon.
When things are darkest, successful people refuse to give up because they know they're almost there.
Things often seem at their worst just before they get better.
The mountain is steepest at the summit, but that's no reason to turn back.

In the Middle East, Israeli politicians never have to wear a tie in parliament but in Egypt where it's even hotter in the summer,
a politician wouldn't think of being in parliament without a tie.
No wonder a tie rebellion gets attention.
It happened during an African fashion show in the Netherlands this week.
The Dutch Queen's husband, Prince Claus, who was the host for the event,
suddenly decided and said out loud that his tie was like a snake around his neck.
That night on Dutch television the anchorman and the sportscaster took off their ties in support.

In business, managers have to be leaders.
Thus, it is no wonder that researchers have been studying the nature of leadership in business.
Some researchers have found that leadership behavior among managers can be divided into two categories.
Whereas some managers are job-centered, others tend to be employee-centered.

Asked when they feel satisfied with their life, most people say they feel so when they think they are superior to others.
That's true.
Many feelings of satisfaction or dissatisfaction have their roots in how we compare ourselves to others.
If we spend most of our time thinking only about those who have more, it's no wonder that we feel unhappy.
When we are surrounded by only those who have less, we feel grateful.
Even though we have exactly the same life either way, our feeling about our life can vary tremendously based on who we compare ourselves with.

Our own age produced the Nazi concentration camps, two catastrophic world wars, and a dream of one world; a nuclear arms race that may put an end to civilization as we know it, and the promise of "atoms for peace."
Confronted with such mighty opposites, no wonder Western man feels deeply troubled as he faces the immense gulf between his finest achievements of hand and brain, and his own sorry ineptitude at coping with them.

I mean, absolutely morally bankrupt officers who had no redeeming qualities.
People followed them out of sheer wonder for what they would do next.
You learn far more from negative leadership than from positive leadership.
Because you learn how not to do it.
And, therefore, you learn how to do it.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.
It is the source of all true art and science.
He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder
and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself
as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties
can comprehend only in their most primitive forms―this knowledge, this
feeling, is at the center of true religiousness.

As personal computers have plummeted in price and become easier to use,
it's no wonder more users are interested in using their PCs for more
than just word processing.

Business in Asia rush to meet express company deadlines.
Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Most express companies base their pick-up deadlines on commercial airline schedules.
So it's no wonder business feel they're in a constant race against the clock.

A:I wonder if they have set a date for the wedding.
B:No, not yet. I hear that they are planning to go to Thailand for their
honeymoon.
I wonder if you can help me?
'날짜를 정한다'란 표현을 쓸 땐 set a date 혹은decide on a date라고 쓴다.
회화에선 I have heard표현을 줄여서 I hear라고 간결하게 표현한다. No, net
yet은 No, they haven't set a date yet을 줄인 표현이다.

No wonder she didn't show up to see him off. They broke up.

You'll find cigarettes in the case.
Thank you. Where did you get all this nice furniture?

I had it specially made to order.
No wonder it is so nice.

He worked around the clock.
No wonder he got sick.

This is made in England.
No wonder it is so expensive.

No wonder you look so pale.

I could hardly recognize him.
No wonder.
Time flies.

Nawal was a joy to her mother, but also a terrible heartache. Her mom
knew that she was so ill that she would die soon without expensive
treatment. And Nawal's mom had no money. One evening, Nawal's teacher
came. "Do your homework, Nawal," the teacher said. "You'll be back in
school soon." And Nawal's mom looked at him in wonder. "A friend of mine
wrote an article about Nawal," explained the teacher. "One of his
readers, doctor, has offered to treat her for free." Nawal's smile was
so wide that it spread across all three faces.

I'm lying here the room's pitch-dark

I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on your telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Oh I hope that it won't end, though

And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you Alone
How do I get you Alone
You don't know how long I have wanted to touch your lips and hold

And my love for you is still unknown

The ability of falling cats to right themselves in midair and land on
their feet has been a source of wonder for ages. Biologists long
regarded it as an example of adaptation by natural selection, but for
physicists it bordered on the miraculous. Newton's laws of motion assume
that the total amount of spin of a body cannot change unless an external
torque speeds it up or slows it down. If a cat has no spin when it is
released and experiences no external torque, it ought not to be able to
twist around as it falls.

Almost daily the public is besieged by claims for "no-aging" diets, new
vitamins, and other wonder foods. There are numerous unsubstantiated
reports that natural vitamins are superior to synthetic ones, that
fertilized eggs are nutritionally superior to unfertilized eggs, that
untreated grains are better than fumigated grains, and the like.

Research shows that people who watch a lot of TV are influenced by its unrealistic representation of sex roles.
For example, there are many more male characters than females by three to one on prime-time TV.
Also, men play a far greater variety of roles than women.
In addition, fewer than 20 percent of married mothers on television work outside the home; in real life, over 50 percent do.
No wonder so many TV viewers agree that "women should run their homes and let men run the country."
