The last time I went out for breakfast, I had to choose among ten types of pancakes, six varieties of juice, and four kinds of potatoes.
To my surprise, my wife and children love all this.
They love going into an ice cream shop and being able to choose among seventy-five flavors of ice cream and seventy-five flavors of topping to put on them.
For my part, I increasingly find that I miss simplicity.
Faced with a glass case filled with eighteen types of coffee, I just wish for a nice cup of tea.
I'm afraid I am the only person in the house who feels that way.

The more heartless our community becomes, the less space we seem to have in our hearts for others.
Nearly all the people you happen to meet in life merit your consideration.
Many of them will be there to help you to deliver your pizza, bag your groceries, and make you coffee.
And millions more people, most of whom you will never meet, won't help you, indeed can't help you,
and may not even be able to help themselves.
They also deserve your respect.
If you are not in the habit of being nice to all these people, then get in the habit now.

Some people felt that the city playground was falling apart.
They wanted to make it into a nice, safe place for children to play.
One mother put this note in the newspaper.
“Wanted: People to fix a city playground.
We need people to paint and build, to watch the children, and to make food for the workers.
Call 123-1234 if you can help.”
On the work day, many people came to the playground.
Some painted the swings.
Others built a sandbox, tables, and benches.
People planted bushes and flowers.
When it was all done, everyone was proud of the new playground.

There are a few things to keep in mind if you want to get perfect shots while camping.
Take pictures of your family.
Nature shots can be really nice, but you'll be looking at those old family camp photos in ten years.
Bring extra batteries.
Most cameras use really special batteries and you may not be able to find them at a camp store.
Temperature can affect your batteries and film.
If you are taking pictures in chilly weather, your batteries may die.
Don't throw them away.
Just warm them up and you'll be ready to shoot again.
Film does not like heat so try to keep your film in a cool spot.
You can’t take too many pictures, so bring lots of film.

The process of culture shock is so predictable that its stages have been systematized.
The first is the honeymoon stage, familiar to those of us who love to travel, but never stay in one place long enough to find out what follows.
In the honeymoon stage, the new country and its people seem delightful.
It almost feels more comfortable than home.
Everything is so different and charming, the people are so nice and the customs are so interesting.
Then the bloom comes off the rose.
People start to look shallow, selfish, and stupid.
The different ways of doing things do not seem interesting any more―just boring.
You start to feel exhausted all the time.
Culture shock has set in.

I recently had an encounter with a dog owner letting his large German shepherd run free around the park.
For the third time in the last month, I asked the man to restrain the dog while I ran past with my leashed dog, and he refused.
Another man who regularly plays with his dog simply stares when I ask him to restrain his dog.
Dog owners like these two men usually say their dogs are “safe.” But I've seen apparent “hellos” escalate into vicious fights between two “nice dogs.” Dog fights are brutal and bloody affairs impossible to break up without risking serious injury.
I was seriously bitten some years ago breaking up a fight between my dog and an unleashed dog, and had to have stitches and a rabies shot as a result.

Reminding them how hard Mom had worked on the floor and how nice it looked, I added, "Now if anyone spills anything on it, they first have to wipe it up and then spend an hour in their room."

I went to public school, and because of my total lack of interest and non-attendance I was asked to leave.
I didn't want to go there in the first place.
I was taken away from all my friends.
My father must have been very pleased to get me into the school, but in the end it was a complete waste of money.
I let him down quite badly, I suppose.
I tried several jobs but I couldn't settle down in them.
They just weren't challenging enough.
Then I realized that what I really wanted to do was live in the country and look after animals, so that's what I now do.
As a family, we're not that close, either emotionally or geographically.
We don't see much of each other these days.
My father and I are totally different, like chalk and cheese.
My interests have always been the country, but his are books, music and above all, opera, which I hate.
If he does come to see me, he's in completely the wrong clothes for the country ― fur coats, nice little leather shoes, not exactly ideal for long walks across the fields.

As a hair stylist in a salon, I was giving a client a shampoo. The hose
I was using to rinse his hair slipped out of my hand and sprayed him
squarely in the face.
I couldn't apologize enough, but he was nice about the mishap. "That's
okay," he said, "I'm a plumber. I'm used to it."

A:What floor would you like?
B:Fifth, please.
A:It's a nice and cool day, isn't it?
B:Yes. I enjoy cool weather. Have a nice day!
What
floor?나 Which floor?
It's a nice and cool day는 It's a
very cool day와 같은 뜻이다. I enjoy cool weatheer를 I really love cool
weather라고도 말한다. Have a nice day Have a good day라고
인사를 하면, 상대방은 The same to you나 You, too라고 답한다.

A:Listen! Somebody's playing the piano.
B:Yeah, it sounds nice, doesn't it?
A:I wish I could play a musical instrument.
는 Listen to the sound라고 말한다. yeah는 yes보다 격식을
I wish I could... Could는
I am sorry I can't play any musical
instrument와

A:Mary, this is my cousin Jim.
B:Hi, Jim. I'm glad to meet you.
C:Glad to meet you, too. Can't we sit somewhere and talk?
I'm pleased to meet you, 나 I'm happy to see you
It's nice to meet you. It's good to see you.라고 말하고 I'm이나 It's를
Can't we sit~?

we really need a nice picture to set it off.

You want to have a nice home, don't you?

My memory is going, but I don't miss it that much. The nice thing is that
I remember mostly good things, and I tend to forget bad ones. For
example, I remember my childhood quite well, because it was really very
happy. I can't remember how old I am, but I seem to remember my birthdays
without any problem. This is strange, because I sometimes forget those of
other people -- especially if I have to dress up or give expensive
presents. I often forget to get up and go to work in the morning.
Fortunately, I seem to remember that I'm retired.

I'm a big, big girl in a big, big world
It's not a big, big thing if you leave me
But I do, do feel that I do, do will
Miss you much, miss you much

It's all so yellow and nice
It's so very cold outside
Like the way I'm feeling inside

Outside it's now raining

But when I open my eyes
You're gone

Mr.Big
Now that I lost everything to you
You say you want to start something new
And it's breaking my heart you're leaving
Baby I'm grieving

But if you wanna leave take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of things turn bad out there
Oh baby baby it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh baby baby it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child girl
You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breaking my heart in two
Cause I never wanna see you sad girl
Don't be a bad girl

But if you wanna leave take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware
Oh baby baby it's a wild world
