I am not a mountaineer, but I love to hike and be outdoors. It was hot
that day, so climbing the mountain was much more difficult than I had
imagined. It took about six hours to reach the top. But the sweeping
beautiful view made the hard climb worthwhile. That night we cooked out,

The government of Nepal is trying to solve the problem. Now you cannot
climb Mount Everest without special permission from the government of
Nepal. In May 1993, they allowed a team of Americans to climb Everest,
but they asked them to bring back waste on their way back down. The team
brought down 2,850 kilos of waste from the highest slopes of the
mountain. There were food containers, empty oxygen bottles, and old
climbing equipment. This was the start of a plan to clear all the waste
from Mount Everest.

But clean air is not the only reason. People can set up a tent in the

have to be bothered by noisy crowds that disturb their peace of mind.
These are other reasons why people like to go to the mountains.
