Korean scientists have developed the world's first cholesterol-cutting
material which dissolves in water... In a press conference yesterday,
Eugene Science, a Korean biotechnology venture company, said that
it succeeded in combining plant sterol, a natural material reducing
cholesterol level, with water-soluble carriers. The new substance
was named "Ucole." The function and the safety of plant sterol have
already recognized by the Food and Drug Administration of the
United States.

수용성 물질을 개발했다... 국내 생명공학 벤처기업인 유진사이언스는
어제 기자회견에서 콜레스테롤 수치를 낮추는 천연물질 플랜트 스테롤과
수용성 유도체 물질을 결합시킨 신물질 "유콜"을 개발하는 데
성공했다고 말했다. 플랜트 스테롤의 기능과 안정성은 이미
미국식품의약국의 인정을 받은 바 있다.
