United Airlines and its pilots' union have reached
a tentative agreement on a new contract.
United CEO say he's happy with the deal, as is the union's
Herb Hunter who notes though the pact still faces a number of hurdles.
--- We're happy to hear this. But there're several things that
have to happen before this is a done deal. First of all,
the first week of September, the master executive council
of our union review the contract, and captain Dubinsky will
explain it to these guys. And if it passes their review,
then it will be sent out for a vote by the pilots.
The contract dispute has caused widespread travel headaches
with thousands of flights delayed and canceled in recent weeks
as pilots refused to work overtime.
