The United States remains the world's most competitive
economy and only a major stock market crash or complacency
can throw it off course, a key research report said.
Singapore and Hong Kong also kept their rankings as second
and third most competitive countries despite the regional
financial crisis which broke out last year.
However, Japan, where recession looms, slid nine spots to
18th place.
The Southeast Asian countries battered most brutally by
falling stock and currency markets all fared worse, with

Sweden, down one to 17, and Austria, 22nd against 20th, were
the exceptions in Northern Europe.
Canada and New Zealand stayed put (10th and 13th
respectively) but Ireland jumped to 11th from 15th place.

가능하다는 걸 보여주는 겁니다.
