Now the new team of economic ministers in the Cabinet is pushing
hard with a plan to revamp the country's high-cost, low-efficiency
economic structure. But the structural problems, involving high wages,
high interest rates and high land prices, will take a long time to
restructure. There is no panacea for economic woes like ours and the
key is the recognition of real problems by economic bureaucrats and
bold rejection of any political tint in the drawing up of remedial plans.
