What about your little brother?

How about financially?
Well, financially it's a little bit better. But... it's better than when I was a teacher.
But, you know, I kind of... it's allowed me to buy a house.
And I've been able to help my mother with some stuff and my brother. So, that's nice.

My brother became ill yesterday.
I paid little attention to him and did not send him to hospital,
because his illness did not seem to be serious.
Now his condition is changing for the worse.
I regret having paid little attention to him.
In other words, I should have paid more attention to him.

Do you have a little brother or sister who listens to commercials on
television and then tries to get your mother to buy every product he or
she has seen advertised? Sometimes little children are so "sold" by
commercials that they really believe their family must eat only one kind
of cereal or use a certain brand of soap. Advertisers change people's
thinking by using language which appeals to emotions. This is an example
of the power of language.

Edgar Allen Taylor went to his girlfriend's house with a box of
chocolates, but she was not at home. He left the box with his girlfriend
to see if the chocolate was good. She answered no. Because she had never
seen the chocolate, she suspected her little brother, Bob. Asked by his
sister, Bob said, "When I came home form school, I saw a box of
chocolates with a note on it that said E.A.T. So I did, as the word
said."
Edgar Allen Taylor

'between ourselves'
Nancy:What are you doing with Father's tape recorder?
Little Brother:Oh, I'm just trying to fix it.
Nancy:You can't fix it.
Little Brother:Please wait. Knock it several times, and push the red
button…. See,it's working!
Nancy:Oh, I see. It was you that broke it yesterday, right?
Little Brother:Shhh! Between you and me I dropped it from the desk.
Nancy:You know, Father scolded me. But now I don't care. Your voice
is being recorded.

little visitor 태아
kid brother(sister) 동생

Sean: My father was an alcoholic. Mean fuckin' drunk.
He'd come home hammered, lookin' to whale on somebody.
So I provoke him so he wouldn't go after my mother and little brother.
Interesting nights were when he wore his rings.
Will: Yeah, he used to just put a, uh, a wrench, a stick, and a belt on the table, and just say, "Choose".
Sean: Well, I gotta' go with the belt there, then.
Will: I used to go with the wrench.
whale on: 매질하다
go with: 고르다, 선택하다
