Everybody would like to make a trip to some distant stars in the space as well as into the future and past.
But we know that we could not make such a trip by means of an ordinary vehicle.
It would take thousands of years to reach the nearest star ever at the speed of millions of immensity of the space by all means.
That is to say, we must dash through the space by means of some mysterious method of transportation.
But, to achieve this exploit we should know much more than we do now about space and time.
Do we really know what space is? Probably the answer is "No". It is fortunate, however, that we can now control the space.

(ANS) It was at dusk the following day-it happened to be a particularly cold day, and Mr. Koh had remained in the tea-room until late, when Kwanshik showed up again. He was carrying a bundle wrapped in an old brown blanket. He approached Mr. Koh, shoving through the narrow space between the coffee tables dragging the bundle, while everyone in the tea-room watched him with wide-open eyes. A waitress tried to stop him, but he pretended not to notice her. Mr. Koh rose from his seat, frowning.

Throughout the short history of the exploration of space, several space stations have been put into orbits.
The first manned space station into orbit was the Soviet station Salyut 1.
It was in 1971.
Later, in 1986, the Soviet Union launched the Mir space station.
Mir stayed in orbit until March 23, 2001.
Over that time, 104 astronauts visited the station to stay for various lengths of time.
The person who stayed the longest in space so far is Russian astronaut Valeri Polyakov.
Working as the doctor aboard the station, he lived on Mir for 438 days without returning to the earth.

Nothing in the history of science can compare with a black hole.
Thought to exist far, far out if space, black holes are said to be small sphere-shaped areas where gravity is so strong that not even light can escape.
This, of course, makes them invisible and is the reason they are referred to as “black.”
They're called “holes” because, as far as we know, they seem to be bottomless pits which can suck in everything from tiny dust particles to stars many times larger than our sun, all of which disappear without a trace.

As many factories started to be built and cities grew, there were more and more jobs in city areas.
As more people moved to cities for the jobs, they needed places to live in.
Soon houses gave way to apartment buildings.
Also, to provide goods and services for so many people, new businesses grew up in the cities.
These new businesses also needed space, and unused land was hard to find.
When most of the land was taken up, builders started to build in the only direction left―up! This is why skyscrapers were first built in the cities.

You'll find the unknown word comes again, perhaps several times, and by the end of the chapter you'll have guessed its meaning.
That's how we learn the meaning of words in our own language, isn't it?
When I'm telling a story to children, they seldom stop to ask what a word means.
Even when they read, they don't run for the dictionary every time they see an unknown word.
When I read my New York Times these days I often find articles about space programs.
There are sometimes words I don't know ―and some of them are so new that they're not yet in the dictionaries.
But I'm slowly beginning to understand what some of the words mean ― simply by meeting them so often.

A space rock big enough to cause widespread damage will hit the Earth only about once every 1,000 years,
but experts say the destruction would be so extreme that nations should develop a joint defense against space rocks.
Some scientists estimated that the space rock would release about 10 megatons of explosive energy.
Such a rock, estimated at 180 feet across, fell down through the atmosphere over Tunguska in Siberia in 1908
and destroyed trees across 800 square miles of forest land.

All of the goals of space science share a common end.
It is to learn more about the earth.
Only by exploring other bodies in the skies can we answer some of the questions we have about the earth.
The things we have learned about other planets have helped us to know our own planet better.
It is important to understand the forces that control the earth.
With that understanding we may be able to manage those forces.
This control would help mankind.

The more heartless our community becomes, the less space we seem to have in our hearts for others.
Nearly all the people you happen to meet in life merit your consideration.
Many of them will be there to help you to deliver your pizza, bag your groceries, and make you coffee.
And millions more people, most of whom you will never meet, won't help you, indeed can't help you,
and may not even be able to help themselves.
They also deserve your respect.
If you are not in the habit of being nice to all these people, then get in the habit now.

Sky is the region of space visible from the earth.
It consists of the atmosphere, which extends hundreds of miles or kilometers above the earth.
Its colors result from the scattering of sunlight by the gas molecules and dust particles in the atmosphere.
When it is clear, the waves of blue light are scattered much more than those of any other color.
As a result, it appears blue.
When it is, however, full of dense clouds or smoke, it turns gray.

Innovations in transportation in the 1800s permitted space to be traversed more rapidly and were crucial to the industrial expansion of the North.
The great spaces that separated producers from consumers made speed essential.
The development of the steam-powered locomotive in the 1830s and the rapid extension of the railways in the 1840s and 1850s provided the answer to the need for faster transport.
In 1830 there were 32 miles of rails in the country, but by 1850 there were more than 9,000 miles.
The rapid extension of rail mileage enabled the railroads to reduce their costs for shipping freight and carrying passengers.

In all cases, interior space is organized according to some specific purpose.
In homes, space is organized for the purposes of cooking and eating, sleeping, washing, socializing, and so on.

In this article, we will take a closer look at one kind of public interior space―the interior of a modern supermarket.

The interior of a supermarket is designed so that customers get what they want and so that the supermarket makes money.
For example, the space in the market is organized so that customers need to walk around the entire store in order to find everything they want.

I first noticed you driving behind me.
You must have mistaken the space in front of my car for an invitation, since you switched lanes, accelerated and then jumped in front of me.
You were a few car lengths closer to your destination, but you still ended up traveling 30 mph.

There are, on the other hand, many good reasons against owning a car.
First, it can be very expensive.
The price of fuel continues to rise and car insurance can cost three or four hundred dollars a year.
In addition, it is expensive to maintain and repair a car.
A simple tune-up can cost $50.
In an urban area, it might also be expensive to park the car.
Second, owning a car can cause worry and stress.
It is exhausting to drive in rush-hour traffic, or to drive around and around looking for a parking space.
If you leave your car on the street, it might get stolen.
That is something else to worry about.
Finally, everyone needs to think about pollution and energy problems.
Air pollution and noise pollution increase as more and more people drive cars.

A science teacher was appointed to school in a remote village.
On his first day he talked about modern science and how it helps human
progress. He told about space craft and how man had walked on the moon.
When he finished his lecture, he asked if there were any questions.
"Sir," one student asked, "could you please tell us when they will start
a bus service through our village?"

Dear Mr. Ferron :
Thank you for submitting specifications and a cost estimate for the security system work on the Tri-Oaks Building project.
Your references and client list are impressive.
We received over thirty bids for the office building work.
Each bid was carefully reviewed against our budget and the qualifications of the bidder.
Your firm was among the five final contenders we considered.
However, after careful deliberation, we chose Net Security, Inc. for the project.
Their bid was closest to our budget and their experience was in an area that matched our needs.
We appreciate your interest in our project and the time and effort you went to in preparing your bid.
We hope we will have other opportunities to work with you on a future project, as your company has an exceptional reputation in the field.
Sincerely,

Today let me tell you about an experience I had on the bus. The bus was
full and I was standing near the door. As people got on, they stepped on
each other's feet and pushed one another in the back. I realized that the
riders didn't like it, but they understood that's the way it is. In my
country, when getting on a bus, people will apologize if they touch a
person at all. Where I come from, everyone worries about individual space
no matter where they are.
▶ Push another one in the push

People are happy with developments in medicine. Then they worry about
the increased number of births. Scientists make great advances in
agricultural chemistry, greatly increasing our food supply. Then our
rivers become so polluted that we cannot even swim in them. We are happy
with the developments in air transportation and impressed by the great
airplanes. Then we are frightened by the horrors of air crash or air war.
We are excited by the fact that space can now be entered. But we will
undoubtedly see the other side there, too.

Comfortable living conditions include not only chemical and physical
cleanliness, but also privacy, space, and quietness, Since these belong
to needs deeply rooted in human nature, the demand for them will increase
as we prosper. Unfortunately, however, these comforts will soon be
unavailable if developments are continued without paying due attention to
these needs. Before it is too late, strong actions should be taken so
that clean, private, spacious, and quiet dwellings can be guaranteed.

Making rope required room because rope had to be made in a straight
line. Because of space limits, ropemaking was done outdoors at first.
Soon it became necessary to produce rope no matter what the weather was
like. Special buildings were constructed to allow ropemakers to work all
year round. Often these buildings were more than 300 meters long. They
were called ropewalks because workers had to slowly walk the length of
the building backward during the ropemaking operation.
ropewalks(맛줄 공장)라고 불려졌다.

In a meeting of animal Space Scientists, the chimpanzee proudly
announced, "We sent a rocket to the moon. It stayed there for a whole
month before making the long trip back to Earth." "That's nothing," said
the fox. " We already sent our spaceship to straight to the sun." The
chimpanzee and the fox laughed loudly and said, "Don't be silly. The
rocket will melt before it gets there." "No, it won't," said the pig.
"We're sending it up at night."

The First time
Surface
You know I won't forget
The times we shared together holding hands
And walking in the park
Sometimes we'll have to do it all again
We were so happy then
I have no regrets
Can't you tell from the look on my face
That I love you more today
**
The first time I looked into your eyes I cried
Do you remember the first time
When we fell in love
You looked into my eyes wiped the tears away
The first time when we fell in love
-
Although some time has passed
I still remember just like it was yesterday
But time is movin' fast
The love I have for you time won't ever change
I'll always feel the same now until the end
Memories we share will live forever
Deep inside my heart I know I'll never forget

Against all odds
How can I just let you walk away
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you
You're the only one who really knew me at all
-
How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave
'Cause we shared the laughter
and the pain and even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all
-
So take a look at me now
There's just an empty space
There's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
-
Take a good look at me now
There's just an empty space
And you coming back to me
Is against all the odds
And that's what I got to take
-
I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
-
So take a look at me now
There's just an empty space
There's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
-
Take a good look at me now
There's just an empty space
But to wait for you is all I can do
And that's what I've got to face
-
Take a good look at me now
'Cause I'll still be standing there
And you coming back to me is against all the odds
And that's what I got to take

Liberal education was associated in the public mind with a pre-industrial, pre-scientific, pre-democratic era.
It was possible to attack it as irrelevant and decorative.

Hawking, who holds a prestigious Cambridge University chair once held by Sir Isaac Newton, also forecast that babies would be grown outside the womb in the next hundred years.
The British physicist said humans should improve their mental and physical capabilities and meet challenges posed by space travel.
"If we don't destroy ourselves in the next 100 years, I expect we will spread out to planets in the nearby solar system and then to nearby stars," Hawking said.

In 1956, for instance, Britain's Astronomer Royal called the prospect of space travel "utter nonsense." Relying on the atom's almost limitless energy, and the computer's almost limitless "intellect," the futurists predict an era of almost limitless change.

Light travels through space in a straight line as long as nothing disturbs it.
As light moves through the atmosphere, it continues to go straight until it bumps into a bit of dust or a gas molecule.
Then what happens to the light depends on its wave length and the size of the thing it hits.

The last approach would be the cheapest solution.

Measurement in space is quite different from measurement on Earth. Some
terrestrial distances can be expressed as intervals of time : the time
to fly from one continent to another or the time it takes to drive to
work, for example.

The ocean bottom ― a region nearly 2.5 times greater than the total
land area of the Earth ― is a vast frontier that even today is largely
unexplored and uncharted, Until about a century ago, the deep-ocean
floor was completely inaccessible, hidden beneath waters averaging over
3,600 meters deep. Totally without light and subjected to intense
pressures hundreds of times greater than at the Earth's surface, the
deep-ocean bottom is a hostile environment to humans, in some ways as
forbidding and remote as the void of outer space.

They can also enmesh marine snow
which it wipes carefully into it's jaws.

the blue whale.
Some weigh nearly two hundred tons
twice the size of the largest dinosaur.
Despite their great size, we still have little idea of where they travel in the vast oceans
and none at all of where they go to breed.
The largest animal on Earth feeds almost exclusively
on one of the smallest krill, shrimp-like crustaceans.
They take many tons of water into their ballooning throats in a single gulp
and sieve out what it contains.
Every day, each one swallows some four million krill.
Such gargantuan harvests depend on the continuing fertility of the oceans
But global changes now threaten the great blooms of plankton
on which the whales depend.

Cities are the center of government, economy, education and culture.
Though we do not know exactly how many cities there are in the world, we do know that cities can grow in two ways: in an organic way and in a planned way.
Organic cities are usually older cities.
They are called organic because they have spread in different directions with no precise plan except to provide space for the growing population.

I'm all good for national and metro.

Blood spatter has a void instead of
one continuous line of spray...
... there's an interruption.
A space where something or someone comes between
the blood coming off the body and the wall.
Which means our assailant was here and

Seventy-two degrees Fahrenheit. Then open it.

Why? Look, I'm quiet. No loud music, no parties.
