[比較] provide, supply, equip, furnish
supply는「부정품이나 필수품을 (흔히 정기적으로) 공급한다」는 뜻이며, provide는 「필요한 물건이나 유용한 물건을 공급한다」는 뜻이다.

danger는 가장 일반적인 말이며 손상(injury)· 해악(evil)이 일어날 가능성이 예상되지만, 반드시 닥쳐온다던가 모면할 수 없다던가 하는 것은 의미하지 않는다.

peril은 보통 절박한 뜻이 danger보다 강하고, 더 큰 두려움을 초래하며, 상실과 손상의 가능성도 한층 높은 것을 의미한다.

undulate는 물결 같은 운동을 암시하는 데에는 fluctuate보다 이 말이 훨씬 많이 쓰인다. 또한 비유적으로는 급격한 변화를 암시하지 않고, 꾸준히 흐르는 물의 물결을 연상시켜서, 계속적으로 출렁거리는 잔물결을 암시하는 경우에 흔히 쓰인다.
