1) 깊이 감동해서: with reverence; with a deep sense of gratitude
2) 인식하다: accept; face
→ 「둘도 없는」은 말 그대로는 irreplaceable이지만, most precious; more valuable than any thing else처럼 번역하는 것이 좋을 것이다.

→ 어떻게 부르면 좋을지 망설이다: have a hard time deciding what to call the occasion
→ …라고 부르는 것도 알맞지 않다: nor is it properly called~
Chusok deeply rooted in the culture of Korea; Chusok with a special importance; have a remarkable significance
(ANS) Because there are so many levels of meaning to Chusok, foreigners often have a hard time deciding what to call the occasion. It is not the same as Thanksgiving celebrations, though it includes the thanks for the harvest and the family gathering and eating. Nor is Chusok properly called an autumn moon festival, for the more important meaning to Koreans is to be found in the veneration of the family ancestors. Probably the most important thing about Chusok today is its very Koreanness. → ~와 말다툼을 한다: quarrel with~; have a quarrel with~.
→ ~하지 않았어야 했다: should not have+과거분사, 또, ought not to have+과거분사로 한다.
→ 앞으로: from now on ; in (the) future

It is (only) natural that those who go to United States for the first time should feel uneasy.
That you don't believe me is a great pity. = It is a great pity that you don't believe me.
위의 예처럼, natural을 비롯해서, necessary, important, essential, strange가 들어가는 경우 that 이하의 절은 for + 목적어 + to부정사로 바꿔 쓸 수 있다. ex) It is (only) natural for those who go to the United States for the first time to fell uneasy.

⇒ It is true he is young, but he is prudent for his age.

Now it's much more important for me to do and to give something back to the country
that has given me everything that I have.

So you're not at all giving any thought?
No, not at all. But that's not my style. You know me. I'm very... I keep my eye on the ball. That's the most important thing.
And that means that I'm thinking about how can I continue moving the state forward

I mean, it's all up to the people in the end. And I think it's a good debate to have.
But I think it's important to leave me out of that discussion.

S1 : Here comes the teacher. Let's stop talking now.
S2 : It might be a good idea to pretend to study English.
T : Sorry guys. I had something important to do.
Did you keep quiet while I was away?
S2 : Of course we did. We were studying English.
T : Is that true? Ah, look around you! If you keep your surroundings clean, you can study harder.
Let's pick up just one thing each.
Ss : Yes, we will.

S1 : Why can't we grow our hair long at school?
I don't think there is difference between long and short hair.
S2 : I agree with you! I don't think long hair is bad.
S1 : When do you think our school is going to let us have any hair style we want?
S2 : Maybe soon. Don't make it an issue.
S1 : Why not?
S2 : Not every teacher and student agrees.
S1 : I think most students agree. Our opinion is just as important as the opinion of others.
S2 : You may be right.

S1 : I heard you got a swimming trophy! Congratulations!
S2 : Thanks. I worked really hard to get it.
S1 : Can you teach me how to swim like you?
S2 : Sure, no problem. I can meet you at 6 every Friday.
Is that okay?
S1 : Fine with me. See you then.
S2 : Wait! Where shall we meet?
S1 : Goodness! I almost forget the most important thing.
S2 : Let's meet in front of the school? Is that okay with you?
S1 : Sounds great. See you there.

All that I needed to consummate the most important deal of my career was Mr. Elson's signature on the dotted line.

An important ingredient of what is commonly called "luck" is the willingness to take chances when an opportunity appears.

Even in his old age, Thomas Jefferson kept up a voluminous correspondence with important people in America and abroad.

I find no one more obnoxious than a person who insists on talking instead of listening to the brilliant and important things that I have to say.

No matter how much Arnold boasted or postured, I could not believe he was as important as he pretended to be.

Perhaps in the long-term perspective of history, some events that seem very important now will prove minor.

The rural population of the United States is growing smaller, but the people living on farms are as important as ever to the nation.

When we take notes, our teacher wants us to underscore items that are especially important.

Why argue about such petty matters when there are so many important problems to deal with!

Factory owners must be careful in choosing locations for factories.
Owners must ask themselves whether it is more important to be nearer the sources of the raw material
or be closer to the users of the factory products.
Transportation must be convenient.
There must be plenty of workers close by.
The cost of land and tax rates are other considerations.

Yesterday evening my son came in to ask if I felt like playing ball with him.
I was trying to get important work done, and I almost said no.
Then it occurred to me that my boy would never be a seven-year-old again.
So we went out onto the front lawn.
With the sun setting, we enjoyed being together.
There was a sense of beauty about the whole experience.

Our parents always made sure that we understood how important our relationships to each other were.
We were taught to love and respect our siblings because they were the only people that we would always be able to count on.
From a very early age, we learned to share what we had with each other.
Later, we learned to support each other through hard times at school or around the neighborhood.
The long-term result of this is that we are all very close today.

In North America, physical punishment by parents, as long as it is not severe, is seen as necessary discipline by many people.
However, sociological researchers and parents have insisted that we seriously consider stopping the physical punishment of children.
The most important reason is that all people have the right to protect themselves, and children are people, too.

Since the 1990s, the number of the unemployed has been increasing in America.
Besides, most Americans stop working around the age 65.
Whether someone is unemployed or retired, he or she can be in emotional crisis.
Because work is so important a part of life in American society, the jobless think that they are useless and unproductive.
In fact, many people feel like working in spite of old age.

One of the most valuable abilities you can develop is the ability to study, which is not something you study the night before an exam.
Rather, you have to learn how to study so you can independently approach a new problem and think it through to a successful solution.
Mastering a method of doing something is also an accomplishment that can only be achieved through genuine study.
Learning to study effectively is far more important than merely acquiring particular information.

Planning is important, but it is action that gets things done.
If you just plan to lose weight, or just plan to start a business, it never happens.
The way to make things happen is to take action.
Find something you can do right now, today, and that will bring you closer to your goal.
Don't put it off until the time is right.
No matter how unimportant your action may seem, it makes you start in the right direction.
Continue taking action every day and you start to gain momentum.

When I was growing up, television wasn't encouraged ― but I was permitted to watch return of “I love Lucy.”
And did I ever love her!
When I was six, I asked my father, a minister in San Diego, to arrange a meeting with my idol.
He tried reasoning with me, but I didn't listen.
Papa paused, looked me straight in the eye and said, “I want you to be real.”
Over the years Papa's words became increasingly important to me.
Being ‘real' meant knowing who I was, being true to myself, and standing up for my beliefs.
그러나 나는 “I love Lucy.”

The human brain has two hemispheres.
Although the hemispheres cooperate for many functions, they control very different activities.
Thanks to the left side of our brain, we are able to master and control language, using it to communicate our thoughts.
It is the left side of our brain that helps us make sense.
It gives order and logic to our speech.
The right hemisphere is less important to language production and appear to be more related with the creation of images.
Research suggests that the right brain dominates during infancy.
Babies perceive the world by visualizing, which is controlled by the right side.

In ancient times, women in Greece were not allowed to take part in the Olympic Games.
Women were first invited to participate in the modern Olympics in 1912.
Since then, women's events have become very important and popular.
People look forward to watching women's gymnastics in particular.
Girls and boys all around the world today admire women athletes in the Olympics.

How you start is important, but it is how you finish that counts.
In the race for success, speed is less important than stamina.

Well, as in most work situations, we have a problem here with communication.
That is, most managers do not want to hear people complain, and most employees are afraid to come right out and say what they feel.
They usually won't say what they like or don't like.
They may complain to each other during lunch or after work, but they do not complain directly to the manager.
It is important, however, for a manager to find out if he or she is doing a good job.
One way to do this is to give employees a chance to talk.
Employees need an opportunity to say what is wrong, what they don't like about the work situation, and what they would change to make their work better.

As well as talking with our voices we can also talk with our bodies.
This may seem surprising at first.
But if you watch two people having a conversation you will see that it is true.
People often move their hands to emphasize what they are saying and to show the person listening to them that they are saying something important.
Listeners use gestures, too.
They may nod their heads to show that they have understood or shake them to indicate disagreement.
