[比較] anybody, anyone
anybody는 남자인지 여자인지 그 가리키는 것이 불분명하므로, 이것을 받는 데에는 he(his, him, himself)를 쓰지 않고 흔히 they를 써서 If anybody calls, tell them I have gone.(누가 전화하거든 나는 갔다고 그에게 말해라)처럼 쓴다.

[比較] order, command, instruction, direction, directive, injunction
ex) He paid alimony by court order.
ex) I'm in command here.
ex) Please read the instructions before assembling the antenna.
ex) If he follows my directions, he can't miss Rockefeller Center.

ex) In spite of all injunctions of secrecy, the news had spread.

[比較] remark, comment, observation
Except for a few remarks, she had nothing to say about the play.

the warden's observations on prison reform/ After five years in Moscow, he was ready to set down his observations on the Soviet scene.

[比較] therefore, hence, consequently, then, accordingly, so
All men are rational beings, Socrates is a man; therefore Socrates is a rational being./ He was the only candidate; therefore, he was elected.
consequently는 as a result, or sequence, or effect of the preceding(앞선 것의 결과로서)의 뜻이며, 흔히 추론을 도입하는 데에 쓰이기는 해도, 반드시 결론의 필연성을 의미하지는 않고, 오히려 결론에 대한 충분한 근거를 암시한다.
He said he would come; consequently I expect him.
He said he would come; consequently I am waiting for him./ He is the popular candidate; consequently he will be elected.
If A is true, then B is false.
He said he was hungry; accordingly they shared their meager lunch with him.
so는 because the preceding is true(앞선 것이 사실이기 때문에), this being the case(경우가 이러하므로)의 뜻이며 구어적인 말이다.

He's only using you./ He used his brother to advance himself.
I could use your help this afternoon. I could use you this afternoon.
use eggs in cooking/ All the butter has been used.
used books/ Used cars and trucks were being marketed in this fashion.

She had employed her leisure in reading every book that came in her way./ employ a vacant lot as a playground/ He employs five mechanics.
A writer uses words effectively who knows what ones he should employ in a given context.
