◆ Wedding and marriage
'wedding' 은 파티와 만찬을 포함해 교회나 예식장에서 벌어지는 결혼식 등 결혼 행위 자체를 언급할 때 쓰입니다.

참고로, 'wed' 라는 단어가 동사로 '결혼하다', 즉 'marry' 의 뜻으로 쓰이기도 하지만 근래에는 드물게 되었습니다.
We got wed soon after the baby was born.
I shall never wed as I like to be independent.
Marriage ; marriage / marry / get married
'marriage' 는 결혼하여 부부인 또는 법적으로 그러한 상태를 나타냅니다.
They enjoyed a long and happy marriage.
Most marriages these days do not last.
The bride's parents did not approve of Victoria's marriage to George.
'marry' 와 'get married' 는 '결혼하다' 이죠.
I married the man next door / I got married to the man next door.
참고로, '약혼하다' 는 'get engaged'.. 아시죠?
We had known each other for fifteen years before we got engaged.
