When I was studying for my doctorate at the University of Southern California,
I spent every weekend in my study that I had established in our garage.
One Sunday a friend took my family to Disneyland.
They phoned me from there: “Hey, John! I bet you wish you were here with us!”
First, I grumbled at them.
Then I felt sorry for myself, sitting alone in a hot garage while others were having fun.
And then I reminded myself why I was there.

부러진 연을 고치고 난 후, 두 시간 동안 날리면서 나는 믿을 수 없을 정도로 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.
