Do you think I was born yesterday?
* '아는 체도 안 하더라'는 말은 영어로는 not give the time of day이라
Good morning이나 Good evening같은 인사말 조차 하지 않는다는
뜻이다. know the time of day란 말도 있는데 '하루의 시간을
Do you think I don't even know the
time of day?
Do you think I was
born yesterday?

S1 : What game is it today?
T : A guessing game. First of all, let's make teams. Any good idea?
S2 : Rocks-papers-scissors.
T : Anyone who wins is team "A." The others are team "B." Sounds good?
S1 : Why not?
T : Then, play rocks-papers-scissors with your partner. Are you finished?
S1 : Yes.
T : Now listen carefully to what I am saying and guess the word. Do you understand?
S1 : Of course. I'm sure I'll know the answer.
T : Great! Today team "A" won the guessing game 4 to 1. Congratulations!

S1 : I got a D on my spelling quiz.
S2 : Don't worry. You can do better next time. I will help you.
S1 : How can you help me?
S2 : I will show you how to memorize big words easily.
S1 : Really? Thanks! But how?
S2 : Even though the words are difficult, try not to think
about them as difficult.
S1 : Is that all?
S2 : No. You should write words down many times.
S1 : Is there any other strategy?
S2 : I don't know. This is what I did and I got good grades.
S1 : I'd better get started then.

T : Here you are! Mmm... You know what? Men should have the courage to admit that they were wrong.
S : Yes?
T : Don't you have something to tell me?
S : I beg your pardon?
T : If you insist on not telling me the truth, I will tell you myself.
S : Okay, I will tell you. I am sorry for cheating.
I promised my mom that I'd get good grades, but I didn't study hard enough, so ...
T : No matter what the reason, what you did is unacceptable. Do you understand?
S : Yes, Ms. Yun. I won't do it again.

When I started snow-boarding and then decided to turn professional, it wasn't really a career option.
There was little money in it, you know.
Even though I was ranked number one, I wasn't making a living at it.
So I just figured I would probably do something else.
Since I was always focused on computers,
I thought at some point that if I had to, I probably would go into web design or something.
That's probably what I would have done, if I had not beaten my first competitors.

All the evil in this world is brought about by persons who are always up
and doing, but do not know when they ought to be up nor what they ought
to be doing. The devil, I take it, is the busiest creature in the universe,
and I can imagine him denouncing laziness. In his kingdom, I will wager,
nobody is allowed to do nothing. The world, we all freely admit, is in a
muddle, but I do not think that it is laziness that has brought it to such
a pass.

Traveling on a bus, I overheard a small boy asking his father numerous
questions, all of which were answered by, "I don't know, son."
Undaunted, the child persisted, with the same result.
Finally he asked, "Dad, do you mind me asking you all these questions?"
"Not at all, son" came the reply. "It's the only way to learn."

How often are we introduced to someone only to forget his or her name
moments later? In fact, many times we never knew the name. Today
introductions are made in an unclear manner so that it is very hard to
remember others' names. Forgetting people's names often means we do not
really care about them. When we know their names, we are saying, "You are
important. I remember you." A clear introduction should be made,
therefore, if you want to build good social relationships with others.

A common belief is that if we find someone who likes to do the same
things we do, then we will get along and we will be happy. Participating
in activities together is a great start for relationships; however, I am
sure you know people who like to do the same things but who don't get
along. This is true with individuals who belong to the same social
groups, companies, and teams, as well as other organizations. Obviously,
it is not a common interest one that creates harmonious relationships.

---------[오늘의 팝송 - LOBO의 How Can I Tell Her]-----------
She knows when I'm alone some.
She cries when I'm sad.
She's up in the good times.
She's down I'm in the bad.
Whenever I'm discouraged she knows just what to do.
But girl, she doesn't know about you.
I can tell her my troubles she makes them all ____.(?)
I can make up excuses not to doll and her night.(?)
We can talk of tomorrow.
I will tell of things that I wanna do.
But girl, how can I tell her about you.
How can I tell her about you. Girl, please tell me what to do.
Everything seems all right whenever I'm with you.
So girl, won't you tell me how to tell her about you?

Please forgive me if I need
you like I do 필요로 하고 있어요.
Babe believe me, every word
I say is true
Please forgive me, if I can't
stop loving you 단념할 수 없어요.
Oh believe me, I don't know 주세요.
what I do 무언지 하나도 모르겠어요. 제발
Please forgive me, I can't
stop loving you 단념할 수 없어요.
Yeah
Can't stop lovin' you 그대를 단념할 수 없어요.

This used to be my playground
Madonna
**
This used to be my playground
This used to be childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
Whenever I was in need of a friend
Why did it have to end
And why do they always say
-
Don't look back
Keep your head held high
Don't ask then why
Because life is short
And before you know you're feeling old
And your heart is breaking
Don't hold on to the past
Well that's too much to ask
-
** repeat
-
No regrets
But I wish that you were here with my
Well than there's hope yet
I can see your face in out secret place
You're not just a memory
Say good-bye to yesterday
Those are words I'll never say
-
This used to be my playground
This used to be our pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy
-
This used to be our playground
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
The best things in life are always free
Wishing you were here with me

End of the road
Boyz II man
We belong together and you know that I'm right
Why do you play with my heart
Why do you play with my mind
You said we'd be forever, said it's never die
How could you love me and leave me
And never say good bye
When I can't sleep at night
Without holding you tight
Girl, each time I try, I just break down and cry
Pain in my head, oh, I'd rather be dead
Spinning around and around
**
Although we've come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you
Come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you
-
Girl I know you really love me
You just don't realize
You've never been there before
It's only your first time
Maybe I'll forgive you, maybe you'll try
We shouldn't be happy together forever
You and I
Will you love me again like you loved me before
This time I want you to love me much more
This time instead just come to my bed
And baby don't let me down
-
** repeat
-
Girl I'm here for you
I'm not out to go out there and cheat all night
Just like you did baby, but that's all right
Huh, I love you anyway
And I'm still going to be here for you
Till my dying day, baby
Right now I'm just in so much pain, baby
'Cause you just won't come back to me, will you ?
Just come back to me
-
Yes, baby my heart is lonemy
My heart hurts baby
Yes, I feel pain, too
Baby please
-
** repeat twice

-

Goodbye yellow brick road
Elton John
-
When are you gonna come down ?
When are you going to land ?
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man
You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues
-
(*)
So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road
-
What do you think you'll do then
I bet they'll shoot down your plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again
Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for tib-bits like you.
On the ground
-
(* Repeat)
-

Vincent - Don Mclean
Starry starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day with eyes that know the
darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills in colors on
the snowy linen land
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you Vincent
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you
look out : 바깥을 보다

< More Than Words > performed by Extreme
============================================
Saying I love you
Is not the words I want to hear from you
It's not that I want you not to say,
but if you only knew
How easy it would be to show me how you feel
More than words is all you have to do to make it real
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cos I'd already know
(cos='cos=because)
What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you
More than words
Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close
Don't ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cos I'd already know

Americans use incomplete sentences.
For example, they say, “Later” to mean “I’ll see you later.”
Also, Americans talk too fast, so it is often impossible to understand them.
In addition, Americans use a lot of slang and idioms whose meanings nonnative speakers do not know.

this is not my way- y'know what? Uh, um,
this is too hard. I'm not, I can't do-

Do you know what I'd hear, with every step I took? 'Not-mine. Not-mine. Not-mine.'

Oh, ok, you know what I don't get? The way guys can do so many mean things, and then not even care.

Do you know what it's like to grow up with someone who is critical of every single thing you say?
...I can imagine.
I'm telling you, it's a wonder your mother turned out to be the positive, life-affirming person that she is.
That is a wonder. So tell me something, Mom.
If you had to do it all over again, I mean, if she was here right now, would you tell her?
Tell her what?
How she drove you crazy, picking on every little detail, like your hair... for example.
I'm not sure I know what you're getting at.
Do you think things would have been better if you'd just told her the truth?
...No.
I think some things are better left unsaid. I think it's nicer when people just get along.

Hey, hey, Yertle the Turtle. A classic.
Actually, I'm reading it to the baby.
The uh, the baby that hasn't been born yet? Wouldn't that mean you're... crazy?
What, you don't think they can hear sounds in there?
You're not serious, I mean, you really... you really talk to it?
Yeah, all the time. I want the baby to know my voice.
Do you uh, do you talk about me?
Yeah, yeah, all the time.
Really?
But um, we just refer to you as Bobo the Sperm Guy.

Y'know, if you're gonna work late, I could look in on him for you.
Oh, that'd be great! Okay, but if you do, make sure it seems like you're there to see him, okay, and you're not like doing it as a favour to me.
Okay, but if he asks, I'm not going to lie.

Okay, so on our no-date evening, three of you now have dates.
Uh, four.
/ Four.

Five.
/ Five.
다섯
Sorry. Paolo's catching an earlier flight.
Yeah, and I met this really hot single mom at the store. What's an elf to do?
Okay, so I'm gonna be the only one standing there alone when the ball drops?
Oh, c'mon. We'll have, we'll have a big party, and no-one'll know who's with who.
Hey, y'know, this is so not what I needed right now.
What's the matter?
Oh, it's-it's Marcel. He keeps shutting me out, y'know? He's walking around all the time dragging his hands...
That's so weird, I had such a blast with him the other night.
/ Really.

So-so you're really not going?
I don't know. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I just- you decide.
Oh don't do that.
Please.
Oh, but I can't do that-
It's your thing, and- -make the decision-
No, but I can't-
Okay, um, stay.
Stay.
Stay.
그래요

In twenty seconds it'll be midnight...
And the moment of joy is upon us.
Looks like that no date pact thing worked out.
Everybody looks so happy. I hate that.
Not everybody's happy. Hey Bobby!
바비?
Y'know, I uh.. just thought I'd throw this out here. I'm no math whiz, but I do believe there are three girls and three guys right here.
I dunno. I don't feel like kissing anyone tonight.
I can't kiss anyone.
So I'm kissing everyone?
Nonono, you can't kiss Ross, that's your brother.
Perfect. Perfect. So now everybody's getting kissed but me.
Alright, somebody kiss me. Somebody kiss me, it's midnight! Somebody kiss me!
There.

Nothing, I just thought I'd stop by.. y'know, after the uh... that I.. y'know, so what are you doing here?
I'm not really here. Just thought I'd drop these off...on the way.. my way... Do you come here a lot? Without me?
No. No! No! ...So, um, do you think he's doing any better than he was this morning?
How would I know? I-I wasn't here.
Really? Not even to, um, change his PAJAMAS?!

Hey, when did you and Susan meet Huey Lewis?
Uh, that's our friend Tanya.
Of course it's your friend Tanya.
Don't you want to know about the sex?
The sex? Um, I'm having enough trouble with the image of you and Susan together, when you throw in Tanya, yaw...
The sex of the baby, Ross.
Oh, you know the sex of the baby? Oh, oh-oh-oh!
Do you want to know?
No, no, no, no, no, I don't want to know, absolutely not. I think, you know, I think you should know until you look down there, and say, oop, there it is!
Or isn't...

I know, I know.
So sweet and so complicated. And for a shrink, he's not too shrinky, y'know?
So, you think you'll do it on his couch?
Oh, I don't know, I don't know.
I think that's a little weird, y'know?
Vinyl.

I know, I mean, why can't parents just stay parents?
(She walks over near Chandler and his gaze stays very obviously on her chest) Why do they have to become people? Why do they have (Notices Chandler) Why can't you stop staring at my breasts?
What?
(Looks up) What?
Did you not get a good enough look the other day?
Alright, alright.
We're all adults here, there's only one way to resolve this. Since you saw her boobies, I think, uh, you're gonna have to show her your peepee.
Y'know, I don't see that happening?
C'mon, he's right. Tit for tat.
Well I'm not showing you my 'tat.'

So what are you guys going to do?
Oh, I just thought we could go out to dinner,
And he's not speaking metaphorically.
So back to your place...you thinking, maybe...huh-huh?
Well, I don't know huh-huh....
but I'm hoping huh-huh.
I'm telling you, that monkey is a chick magnet!
She's going to take one look at his furry, cute little face and it'll seal the deal.

You know that thing, when you and I talk to each other about things?
Yeah.
-그래
