Edward has been holding out on us.

방해: break into, clip one's wings, cross up, fence in, hedge in, hem in,
head off, hold back, leave holding the bag, leave holding the sac, pull up,
rule out, shut out, sit on, throw out of gear

Have you ever seen a news documentary on war or thought about the suffering that people and animals experience in a war?
This cubist painting by Picasso, called Guernica shows such experiences.
You can see a mother holding her dead child, a fallen soldier still clutching his broken sword, a woman trapped in a burning building, and a horse whose body is pierced with a spear.
All the bodies look stretched out or broken.
The figures have open mouths as though they are crying out.
The light bulb that shines on the scene gives out a light that looks like crooked, pointed teeth.

smiling on me. My luck is holding.

run out.

It was a math class. The day's lesson was on how to count. "All right,
Jack,"the teacher said to the first grader. "Let's see you count."
Holding out his hand, Jack counted off the numbers. "One, two, three,
four, five."Smiling, the teacher said, "Very good, but can you count any
higher ?" Jack was very glad to do it again in front of everyone.
Lifting his hand high over his head, the boy counted off the same numbers
without changing his voice. After Jack finished, the teacher said, "No,
Jack. I mean, continue counting from six."
Jack.

< Radio Romance > Sung By 티파니
From who? Just from the one who loves you baby
I see you baby every single day holding onto my best
friend
But you don't see me
So I make the same request now every single night
Going out from me to you on the dedication line(?)
My secret admiration I won't reveal
I wouldn't want to hurt no one by telling how I feel(?)
The DJ knows my voice now
He even knows my choice now
He never says my name
He just says from the one who loves you baby
One night you'll hear a song
And then you'll know just who is from
I see you baby every single day holding onto my best
friend
But you don't see me

End of the road
Boyz II man
We belong together and you know that I'm right
Why do you play with my heart
Why do you play with my mind
You said we'd be forever, said it's never die
How could you love me and leave me
And never say good bye
When I can't sleep at night
Without holding you tight
Girl, each time I try, I just break down and cry
Pain in my head, oh, I'd rather be dead
Spinning around and around
**
Although we've come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you
Come to the end of the road
Still I can't let go
It's unnatural
You belong to me, I belong to you
-
Girl I know you really love me
You just don't realize
You've never been there before
It's only your first time
Maybe I'll forgive you, maybe you'll try
We shouldn't be happy together forever
You and I
Will you love me again like you loved me before
This time I want you to love me much more
This time instead just come to my bed
And baby don't let me down
-
** repeat
-
Girl I'm here for you
I'm not out to go out there and cheat all night
Just like you did baby, but that's all right
Huh, I love you anyway
And I'm still going to be here for you
Till my dying day, baby
Right now I'm just in so much pain, baby
'Cause you just won't come back to me, will you ?
Just come back to me
-
Yes, baby my heart is lonemy
My heart hurts baby
Yes, I feel pain, too
Baby please
-
** repeat twice
-
-

Well, I didn't think he'd be insane enough to go on strike,
and I didn't think the strike would last this long.
So you've been wrong twice about this.
Why should I believe you're right about holding out?

In my caucus, people are rewarded for good behavior, not trading their votes for ransom.

When we walk in there, I expect the both of you
to vote yes without a moment's hesitation.

Do we need to talk about this?

I don't wanna tell you how to do your job,
but not letting me know where you are, holding back information...
How can I help you without you letting me?
Do you think that it's possible
that someone from within the agency is behind the hit on Palmer?
Anything's possible. Do you have a lead?
No. Not really.
Why do I feel like you're not telling me the truth?
If you've got something, tell me. I'll work it up with you.
No, I'm...
I'm just thinking out loud.
OK. Fine.

So to sum it up, Jack leaves his wife, shacks up with you for a while,
gets bored, and then moves back home, leaving you out in the cold.
My personal life is not your concern.
- It is if it affects your work.
- It doesn't affect my work.
How long have you been with the agency, Nina? Six years, seven?
Seven years.
I remember when you first joined. You were goin' places. Everybody knew it.
It hasn't quite happened for you yet, has it?
- You ever wonder why?
- I've done all right.
But you could have done so much better. You had a great reputation once.
You know what your reputation is now?
Jack's flunky. His lapdog.
This is your chance to get back on track, Nina.
He's a loose cannon. Rules don't apply to Jack Bauer.
He does what he wants when he wants, and he doesn't care whose life it affects.
He shot me with a trank gun, for God's sakes.
- You withheld information.
- I was following orders.
Maybe he's following orders you don't know about.
He violated lockdown, and he left you holding the bag.
If he cared about you, he wouldn't have put you in that position.
Let me ask you, would you have done that to him?
Fact is, I'm just asking you to do your job and tell me where he is.
I don't know.

- Are you sure this room is dark? - Yeah, I checked the log. No active cameras.
We should call Secret Service.
If we do, the people holding Teri and Kim will think Jack gave the order.
I hate to say it, but it's not our problem. We have one mandate - protect Palmer.
- We gotta make the call now. - Wait!
Jack wouldn't put Palmer's life in danger.
Let's try to find out more before we do anything.
Are you giving me an order not to call Secret Service?
No, you're right.

My wife and daughter are being held hostage. If I do not get out of this, they will be killed.

Did you?
- Yes. - I'm not sure you want me to believe that.
I had to. They were gonna kill my family. But I got Palmer out of the room. I saved his life.
This sounds crazy, but you've gotta believe me. Phone my house, send a cruiser over.
My family is gone, they have been taken. You have to let me go.
If I can get out there, I can be the conduit to these people. I can bring them down.
I don't have the authority to release you. I'm gonna turn you over to District for a debrief.
You tell 'em what you told me, maybe they can help you out of your situation.

Numbness on his right side.
What's our immediate concern?
Infection.
Right. I'm gonna be pulling these nails out in the next half-hour. I need a C.T.
C.T.s are down.
C.T는 망가졌어요
- What? - They exchanged them out last night.
Computer's crashed -- have them back back up by 1:00.
Typical. What are the options?
- An M.R.I. - No brilliant.

The man's got nails in his head. Let's put him in a giant magnet.

And all he wants is to just once to be on the list to dress for a game.
And it's the last game of his last year of college and he's not on the list.
- So one by one... - Here it is.
The players come to the coach's office
and put their jerseys down on the desk.
- And say, "Coach"-- - "I want to take a shower with Rudy."
No, they don't.
They walk in one by one, put their jerseys on the desk
and say, "Coach, I want Rudy to take my place on Saturday."
And there's a whole line snaking out
of the coach's office of players holding their jerseys.

[John's Diary]
The 2 minutes felt like 2 hours! I hurried out of the station
and ran towards the theater. I crashed into an oncoming lady.
A pile of papers the lady was holding dropped and scattered
everywhere. I apologized again and again, and broke into a
run. Well, today would not have been complete without so many
people on the street! The crowds added to the absurdity of it
all. It was disgustingly hot and humid, as usual. I finally
got to the theater and saw a never-ending line of people.
1. Hurried out of the station: Hurry
명사로 써서 in a hurry를 쓸 수도 있습니다.
I ran out of the station in a hurry.
2. Crashed into an oncoming lady: Crash
Hey, are you driving towards my house?
Nope. I'm driving INTO your house.
I'm not ready for the oncoming shockwave of societal
transformation.
3. Broke into a run: Break
He broke into a smile when he heard it.
His voice broke.
4. Today would not have been complete without so many people
Today would not have been complete without a construction in
the middle of the road!
5. The crowds added to the absurdity of it all: 하필이면
His father's death added to his misery.
6. Disgustingly hot and humid:
7. Never-ending line of people: Never-ending story
He gave me a "who-the-hell-are-you" look.
He looked at me as if to say "who the hell are you."
Teens model themselves after the movie stars.
Model oneself after(on) someone
Teens look at our movie stars and they model themselves after them.
He tried to model himself after his father.
