“Take care.”는 “Take care of yourself.”의 줄임말로 『네 자신을 돌보라.』는 의미다. 실제로 “Take good care of yourself.”(몸 조심하세요.)라고 작별 인사를 하기도 한다. “Take care.”는 친한 사이라면 『잘 가』『잘 있어.』의 뜻이고 자주 만나는 사이가 아니라면 『잘 지내』라는 인사말이다.

shuffle은 발을 질질 끄는 동작을 가리키는 말로서, ‘문제를 분명하게 짚고 넘어가지 않고 얼버무리다’의 뜻으로도 사용됩니다.

‘퓨즈가 짧다’는 이 표현 역시 쉽게 격해지는 성격이라는 의미입니다.
She blows her top easily.
우리가 ‘뚜껑 열린다’는 말로 화가 났음을 표현하는 것과 비슷하게 영어에서는 blow one’s top으로 ‘불 같이 화를 낸다’를 표현합니다.
