말이다. 「대포에 달라붙어 있다」라는 식의 'stick to one's guns'는 「자
기의 주장을 고수하다」라는 의미를 가진다.
A:When the president visited America, he was welcomed with a twenty-
one gun salute.
B:Right. It was an unusual welcome.
A:By the way, how was the talk? Did the presidents of both countries
stick to their guns?
B:Never. The talk began in a friendly fashion, and they promised to
cooperate with each other.
A:Did you hear the president's English address in the Congress?
B:Yes. His English was great. I think he must have decided to appeal
more to American politicians.
A:Yes, he received long standing ovations. But while the president w
as making an English address, Hangul Computer Company went bankrupt.
