Writing and editing are distinct processes.
Writing requires you to let the words flow as they come to you.
Editing requires you to stop and critically assess each word.
It is hard to stay in the creative flow when you are stopping after every word to criticize what you've just written.
If you try to write your first draft and edit it at the same time,
you're likely to lose your concentration and get caught up in details instead of delivering your message.
By the time you finish the first paragraph, you are likely to be frustrated and unable to remember what you originally intended to say.

It is so easy to be reactive! You get caught up in the moment. You say
things you don't mean. You do things you regret later. And you think,
"Oh, if only I had stopped to think about it, I would never have reacted
that way!" Clearly, our lives would be better if we acted based on our
deepest values instead of reacting to the feelings of the moment. What we
all need is a 'pause button' - something that enables us to stop between
what happens to us and our response to it.

But while a few students might be able to get away with it, the majority are being caught.
That's because their professors are already wise to this new form of cheating and they are coming up with their own methods of combating the problem.

- I hate my life. - Hmm?
Nothing. And the spokesperson for TEPCO.
- I just got off the phone with him. - See? You're perfect.
I was just doing a favor for these guys. I don't know anything about--
Thank God my first five choices weren't available.
I thought there were only three.
Let's not get caught up in the math.

들키는 것은(get caught) 시간 문제(a matter of time)라는 의미.
It's only a matter of time before things catch up with you.
catch up with…
cf.) You’re just digging yourself a deeper grave.
dig one’s own grave

get caught up : 말려들다
