order는 가장 포괄적인 말로 법률에서는 법정·판사의 「결정·명령」을 의미한다.
ex) He paid alimony by court order.
군사용어로는(보통 복수형으로 사용된다) 군 당국에서 보내는 명령·통고를 가리키고, 때로는 「임무·부서의 지정」을 가리키기도 한다.
command는 옛날에 군주의 요청·희망(wishes)이 commands였고, 이 뜻은 지금 영국에서의 command performance(왕의 초청에 응해서 행하는 연주·상연, 어전 연주·상연)에 남아 있다. 군주의 명(commands)은 자주 wishes라고 표현되었다. 오늘날 command는 대개 군사 용어로 쓰인다. 군대의 소대 교련 등에서 큰 소리로 일정한 명령을 내리는 「호령, 명령」, 한 사령관 하에 있는 「휘하 부대, 관할 구역, 사령부」, 그리고 「지휘, 지휘권」 등을 의미한다.
ex) I'm in command here.
instruction은 보통 복수형으로 쓰여, 「명령」(order), 「지시, 훈령」(direction)이다.
ex) Please read the instructions before assembling the antenna.
direction은 instruction과 거의 마찬가지이고, 언제나 복수형으로 쓰이며, 보통 어떤 목적지에 이르는 데에 거쳐야 할 통로·노선(route)에 관한 지시를 가리키는 말로 쓰인다.
ex) If he follows my directions, he can't miss Rockefeller Center.
directive는 새로운 명사로서, 「당국의 지령·지시」(authoritative instruction or direction)를 말한다.
ex) A directive was issued by the Secretary of State on conduct of Foreign Affairs Officers.
injunction은 보통 법률 용어로서, 사람에게 어떤 특별한 일을 하라고(흔히는 하지 말라고) 요구하는, 재판소가 내리는 명령(강제 또는 금지)을 가리킨다. 그러나 일반적인 「명령, 지령」의 뜻으로도 쓰일 수 있다.
ex) In spite of all injunctions of secrecy, the news had spread.

The Korea Times has a special reason to welcome the IMF's
agreement with the government's July 16 indication of its
intention to lower interest rates. In its July 13 editorial,
Labor Unrest Re-examined, this newspaper pointed out that the
IMF's high interest rate prescription was bankrupting many
companies with sound business potential and called for a
renegotiation of the IMF's stiff terms. It was said at that
time that greater *leeway in Korea's implementation of its
economic policies was necessary, in light of the fact that
there are many leading economists critical of the IMF's
economic directives.

statue (Title VII of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended); the DOC regulations for
antidumping duties (19 CFR 351), the explanatory preamble to the proposed and
final regulations, 61 FR 7308 (Feb. 27, 1996) and 62 FR 2796 (May 19, 1997), the
Statement of Administrative Action (the legislative history of the URAA, printed
in House Document 103-316, vol.1); the WTO Antidumping Agreement (reprinted
in H. Doc 103-316, vol. 1 at page 1453)..
6. Attend as many IA and ITA training sessions as possible.
7. Attend a case hearing at the the DOC and the ITC.
8. Attend as many case-related meetings as possible.
9. Assist on as many different dumping proceeding actions as you can.
10. Maintain a case work file and index.
11. Prepare a court record.
12. Visit the IA Central Records Unit in Rooms B-099 and 1870 and the
Administrative Protective Order Office in Room 1870.
13. Go on a product-familiarization trip to a production facility.
14. Go on a verification trip.
15. Visit a U.S. Customs field office in a city where you are verifying to see how
Customs implements our directives for investigations and administrative reviews.

7. 상무부 및 국제무역위원회의 사건 공청회에 참석하라.
8. 사건관련 회의에 가급적 많이 참석하라.
9. 상이한 덤핑관련 조치를 가급적 많이 지원해 보라.
10. 사건 작업철과 색인을 유지하라.
11. 법원 기록을 준비하라.
12. 수입행정실 중앙기록관리소 B-099 및 1870호실과 행정보호명령담당관실
1870호실을 방문하라.
13. 제품에 익숙해지기 위해 생산시설을 방문하라.
14. 현장검증 방문을 하라.
