해리 또는 전환 장애로도 불리며 과거기억, 자아 각성, 즉각적 감정등과 몸의 움직임의 부분적
또는 완전한 통합소실을 말한다. 모든 종류의 해리장애는 수 주나 수 개월후에 완화되며 특히 외상에
의한 것일 경우에 그러하다. 해결 할 수 없는 문제나 대인관계의 곤란등에서 야기될 때는 마취,
마비등의 더 만성적 장애로 발전할 수 있다. 이 장애는 이전에 "전환 히스테리"로 분류 되었었다.
이 증상의 기원은 심인성이며 외상, 해결불가능의 문제, 장애적 대인관계와 관련된다. 이런 증상들은
환자의, 신체적 질병의 발현에 대한 개념을 나타낸다. 의학적 검사만으로는 기존의 신체적, 정신적
장애를 밝힐수 없다. 게다가 기능의 상실이 감정적 갈등이나 필요의 표현이라는 증거가 있다. 증상은
심리학적 스트레스와 밀접히 연관되어 갑자기 나타난다. 수의의 조절하에 신체적 기능장애와 감각의
