Give us some terms. 외상으로 좀 줘.
* '외상'이라 하면 일반적으로 credit라 하는데 일정한 기간
동안 빌린다는 의미에서 terms라는 말도 쓴다.
term에 's'를 꼭 붙여야 한다.
What are the terms?라고 하면 '지불 기간은 얼마나 줍니까?'라는
말이 된다. 그리고 물건을 '외상으로 준다'는 것은 give credit가
된다. 또한 상표를 보면 흔히 '권장 소매 가격'이라고 적혀 있는 것을
많이 보는데 이에 해당하는 말은 the suggested retail price이라 한다.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
약정 조건
1. The Supercity Savings Card is not a credit card. It must be signed
immediately and is not transferable.

terms of payment의 terms는 condition과 같은 「조건」입니다.
이 두 단어를 terms and condition이라고 병렬해서 강조하는
경우도 있습니다. 「현금으로 지불한다」는 ay in cash이지만,
「수표로 (신용장으로) 지불한다」일 때에는 pay by cheque
(letter of credit) 처럼 by로 됩니다. Is there a possibility
~?는 Is it possible ~?과 같 ?「~의 가능성이 있는가」이며 그
대답으로는 There is a good (strong) possibility ~, There is
remote (slim) possibility ~., There is no possibility ~ 로
가능성이 강한 쪽에서 약한 쪽으로라는 여러가지 표현이
있습니다.

Rebates

Similar to discounts, rebates are reductions in the gross price that a buyer is charged for goods.
Unlike discounts, rebates do not result in a reduction in the remittance from the buyer to the
seller for the particular merchandise with which the rebate is associated. Rather, a rebate is a
refund of monies paid, a credit against monies due on future purchases, or the conveyance of
some other item of value by the seller to the buyer after the buyer has paid for the merchandise.
When the seller establishes the terms and conditions under which the rebate will be granted at or
before the time of sale, the Department reduces the gross selling price by the amount of the

리베이트(Rebates)

할인과 비슷한 것으로서, 리베이트는 구매자가 상품에 대해서 부담하는
총가격에서 차감되는 것이다. 할인과 비슷하지 않은 점으로, 리베이트는
동 리베이트와 관련된 거래에 대해서 구매자가 판매자에게 송금하는
금액에서 차감되는 것은 아니다. 리베이트는 이미 지급된 금액의 반환,
외상매출금의 감소 또는 구매자가 구매대금을 판매자에게 지급한 이후에
판매자가 구매자에게 금전적 가치가 있는 것을 주는 것을 의미한다. 판매
자가 판매시점 또는 판매이전에 리베이트가 지급될 조건 등을 설정하는
경우 상무부는 총 판매가격에서 리베이트 금액만큼 차감하게 된다.
