Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent,
a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that
all men are created equal.
지금부터 87년전, 우리조상은 이 대륙에, <자유> 속에서 태어난,
그리고 만민이 평등하게 창조되었다는 신조를 위해 모든것을 바친,
새나라를 창건했습니다.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation
or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are
met on a great battle-field of that war.
현재 우리는 일대 시민전쟁에 휩쓸려, 이 나라가, 혹은 또 그와 같이
태어나서 그렇게 바친 어느 나라든지, 길이 존속할 수 있느냐 없느냐
하는 시련을 겪고 있습니다. 우리가 이 시간에 얼굴을 마주대고 서 있는
