Good jugglers make juggling look so easy that it is difficult to imagine all the physics that comes into play.
Gravity has a significant effect on the number of objects juggled.
Each ball must be thrown high enough to allow the juggler time to handle the other balls.
While throwing higher gives the juggler extra time, it also increases the risk of error.
Juggling low, on the other hand, requires the juggler to catch and throw quickly, also increasing the risk of error.
The need for speed or height will change dramatically as the number of objects being juggled increases.

Children come to kindergarten with a great range of abilities.
Some children are already reading.
On the other hand, some children don't catch onto the reading lesson until they're seven or eight.
These children are perfectly normal, just a little late.
If you are a parent or teacher of one of these children, don't nag.
Instead, soothe yourself and the child by remembering that children learn to walk and talk at different rates, and that late bloomers catch up.
Many problems, such as the inability to concentrate and write letters correctly, are natural to young children and will be outgrown in time.

We probably all have discovered, at some time or another in our lives, the treasure hidden beneath a seeming misfortune, the silver lining behind the cloud, the blessing in disguise.

Our problem has been trying to depend on government to police the polluters.
Polluting has been against the law for a long time, but there will never be enough government regulation to prevent the illegal dumping of waste chemicals or the midnight venting of smokestacks.
This polluting of the biosphere won't completely stop until an alarmed citizenry pulls out their video recorders and takes it upon themselves to catch these people in the act.
In a sense, business and the employees of business must regulate themselves.

The literature instructor had spent almost the entire class period
lecturing on the life and writing of Edgar Allan Poe. He noticed one
student with a blank stare and decided to try to catch him off guard.
"Mr. Thompson, since you seem uninterested in what I have to say, I can
only conclude that you already have a vast knowledge of Poe. Perhaps you
would care to give the other members of your class the benefit this wisdom
by describing the man in one word." Without a change of expression, the
student replied, "Dead."

The prince of Wales did better than most other anglers this year when
he landed one salmon in only five days of fishing. On average, fishermen have
had to spend 18 days in their waterproof wading gear this year / before catching
a single salmon.

B:O.K--. Oh no! We just missed it.

A:Never mind. There'll be another one in ten minutes.

Oh, no!
Get
on the bus. [택시를 타라]는 Get in the taxi.
Never mind=Don't worry 걱정마. another는 부정대명사로서 막연히, 또

I didn't start playing volleyball until I was fifteen, and sometimes the
other girls made fun of me because my skills weren't like theirs. I tried
not to let their harsh words break me. I practiced and practiced, trying
to catch up with the other girls. Poor, I couldn't buy good shoes or
clothes for volleyball, and sometimes felt sad. But hard work and
determination helped me make it on a professional volleyball team.

There was a kind woman -- by no means well off -- who, in a hot
Christmas rush, made a last attempt to catch up. Seeing a box of 50
identical greeting cards in a shop, she snapped it up, carried it home,
and signed 49 cards before midnight. She posted them the next morning and
gave a sigh of relief, Then she opened one remaining card, and found
these words printed on it : This little card is just to say a gift from
me is on the way.

Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day
You gave it away
This year
올해는
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
-
**Repeat
-
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognize me
Well it's been a year
It doesn't surprise me
-
Happy Christmas
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying I love you I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again
-
**Repeat twice
-
A crowded room
Friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you
And your soul of ice
My god I thought
You were someone to rely on me
I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
-
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover
But you tore me apart
Now I've found a real love
You'll never fool me again
-
**Repeat twice

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover

I'll give it to someone special

Tom's diner
Suzanne Vega
I am sitting in the morning
At the diner on the corner
I am waiting at the counter
For the man to pour the coffee
And he fills it only halfway
And before I even argue
He is looking out the window
at somebody coming in
-
"It is always nice to see you"
Says the man behind the counter
To the woman who has come in
she is shaking her umbrella
And I look the other way
As they are kissing their hellos
And I'm pretending not to see them
And instead I pour the milk

I open up the paper
There's a story of a actor
Who has died while he was drinking
It was no one I had heard of
And I'm turning to the horoscope
And looking for the funnies

When I'm feeling someone watching me
And so I raise my head

There's a woman on the outside looking inside
Does she see me
No she does not really see me
'Cause she sees her own reflection
And I'm trying not to notice
That she's hitching up her skirt
And while she's straightening her stockings
Her hair is getting wet

Oh, this rain
It will continue through the morning
As I'm listening to the bells of the cathedral
I'm thinking of your voice
And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time before the rain began
And I finish up my coffee
And It's time to catch the train

Call the ambulance!
Thief!
Someone has just broken into my house.
I was mugged.
I heard that a bank was robbed.
There was a murder.
Did you hear about the serial killer?
Did they catch the suspect?
Call the police!
I want to report an accident.
This is an emergency!
She wasn't involved, was she?
No, she just saw it. But it really upset her.
There was a car accident on Highway 40 last night.
The radio said there was a head-on collision on Highway 40 yesterday.
I ran into her by accident at a department store last week.
The little boy was playing with the gun and fired it into the wall by accident.
His parents are stupid for leaving a gun where he could get it.
I accidentally put sugar on my friend chicken instead of salt.
She'll be late. She had a slight mishap: She spilled coffee on her dress.
Jane inadvertently knocked over the lamp when she hung up her coat.
Did it break?
I raised my hand to hail a taxi and unintedtionally hit a man in the face.
Jack unwittingly killed his goldfish by overfeeding it.
Bad news, I had a fender bender on the way home.

The subway is more than a simple means of transportation.
It is a place of rest for people on the way to work who catch more sleep, and it is place where people engage in precious introspection, reading or thinking about what they'll be doing the rest of the day.
To people who value this space, flashy entertainment programs or fancy advertisements are nothing but annoying noise.
If you don't like what's on screen, you can look elsewhere, but the only way to escape the noise is to get off the train.

Finally, there is safety in numbers at communal roosts since there will
always be a few birds awake at any given moment to give the alarm. But
this increased protection is partially counteracted by the fact that
mass roosts attract predators and are especially vulnerable if they are
on the ground. Even those in trees can be attacked by birds of prey. The
birds on the edge are at greatest risk since predators find it easier to
catch small birds perching at the margins of the roost.

For all monkeys morning is grooming time, a chance to catch up with friends.
But, unlike other monkeys,
Gelados chatter constantly while they do it.
It's a great way to network while your hands are busy.
But these socials can't go on for too long.
Gelados have a busy daily schedule and there's work to be done.
Most monkeys couldn't live up here.
There's no food and few insects to feed on.

And there are snakes here, too, lots of them.
These are banded sea kraits. They lay their eggs on land
but they hunt here in the water.
They're too slow to catch fish in a straight chase
so they seek prey that is hiding in the nooks and crannies of the coral.
Their bite is highly venomous and paralyzes their victims.
And on this reef the snakes do not hunt alone.
Shoals of yellow goatfish and trevally are seeking similar prey
And they attract the snakes' attention. As one group of hunters searches the reef
they're joined by the other.
At least thirty snakes have now joined the caravan.

The big fish scare the prey into cracks and there the snakes can catch them
And anything fleeing from the crates will swim straight into the mouths of the waiting trevally.
There's nowhere to hide.
As the raiders scour the reef, more and more snakes join the hunt.
This cooperation between snakes and fish, spectacular though it is,
has only recently been observed, for it only happens on the most remote reefs in Indonesia.
Perhaps such hunting alliances were once a common sight
but today no more than six percent of Indonesia's reefs are in their pristine state.

The hunter endlessly waiting.
Excitement far from land.
A school of dolphin five hundred strong.
They've sensed there's food around, and they're racing to catch up with it.
The news has spread. Now a number of schools are on their way.
They're heading towards the Azores
volcanic islands a thousand miles west of Portugal.

The dolphin scan the water ahead with their sonar.
They're close to their target.
This is it. Scad mackerel.
It's difficult for a single dolphin to catch the fish.
To avoid wasting energy the work as a group.
They drive the fish upwards, trapping them against the surface
and there, other predators await them.
Cory's shearwaters.
They're waiting for the dolphin to drive the prey closer to the surface.
Now the shearwaters can dive down on them, descending to twenty meters or more
and the dolphins block the baitball's retreat.
The dolphins leave as soon as they've had their fill
and, at last, the mackerel sink below the diving range of the birds.

We also try to do more than one thing at once.
For example, a student may write a paper, eat breakfast, and put on his or her shoes all at the same time.
Finally, of course, we may simply rush by doing things such as running to catch a bus.

That thing is not coming in here.
'That thing'? This is how you greet guests at a party? Let me ask you something, if I showed up here with my new girlfriend, she wouldn't be welcome in your home?
I'm guessing your new girlfriend wouldn't urinate on my coffee table.
Okay. He was more embarrassed about that than anyone.
Okay? And for him to have the courage to walk back in here like nothing happened...
Alright. Just keep him away from me.
Thank you. C'mon, Marcel, whaddya say you and I do a little mingling?
Alright, I'll, uh... catch up with you later.

Now, y'see, most people, when their pets pass on, they want 'em sorta laid out like they're sleeping.
But occasionally you get your person who wants them in a pose. Like, chasing their tail, (Demonstrates) or, uh, jumping to catch a frisbee.
Joey, if I go first, I wanna be looking for my keys.
That's a good one!
Hey, Joe.
Dad, Ronni's here.

I had a dream last night where I was playing football with my kid.
That's nice.
No, no, with him.
I'm on this field, and they, they hike me the baby
And I, I know I've gotta do something 'cause the Tampa Bay defence is comin' right at me.
And I, I know I've gotta do something 'cause the Tampa Bay defence is comin' right at me.
Tampa Bay's got a terrible team.
Tampa Bay
Right, but, it is just me and the baby, so I'm thinkin' they can take us.
And so I uh, hah-hah, I just heave it down field.
What are you crazy? That's a baby!
He should take the sack?
Anyway, suddenly I'm down field,
and I realise that I'm the one who's supposed to catch him, right?
Only I know there is no way I'm gonna get there in time,
So I am running, and running, and that, that is when I woke up.
See I, I am so not ready to be a father.
Hey, you're gonna be fine.
You're one of the most caring, most responsible men in North America.
You're gonna make a great dad.
Yeah, Ross.
You and the baby just need better blocking.

If you weren't unsure now, there'd be something wrong with you.
I expected this.
Not easy, what we're asking you to do.
It's okay to vacillate a little.
I'm not trying to throw a wrench in the works.
I know you're not. I'll tell you what.
You take the rest of the day off. You go back to your office,
you catch up with whatever you have to catch up on,
you get a good night's sleep, you go to a meeting tomorrow,
and then you come here and we'll talk the whole thing through.
Can you give me at least that?
Yeah. Okay, Frank.
Good.

More contrast.
We need to catch the edge of his face.
Let's re-crop it. Bring it in a quarter of an inch on the left.

Well, I can't say this gig doesn't have its benefits.
Dude, you're lucky. If Gaines caught you with her... Bang! You're dead.
Yeah, well, Gaines didn't catch me, did he? Come on.
So, how long you been working with Gaines?
I don't know. On and off, a couple of months.

...So when you got free time, try to catch up on your reports.

Hey, didn't I see you on the news tonight.
The chopper. Digging up Jack's wife.
Amazing.
Hope you catch the guy.
Me too.

So you did the tox screen on my carny?
Roger that.
You know, I have seen guys drink, like,
five gallons of water to try and dilute their urine.
It's the old straight flush.
But all bad boy Sanders has to do is just test their specific gravity
and blammo! I can still catch their toxic butts.

You and I are going to work the head case. / Goody.
Nick, another homicide.
4-19, 40 miles outside of Baker.
- Okay. Good. I'm on it. - Sara, you go with him.
Yes! Road trip.
I'm gonna go switch boots.
Cath, I'll catch up with you.
I'll meet you at the autopsy.
"Head" topsy.

Um, John, we need to talk about what happened the other day.
Mr. Solis isn't starting to catch on, is he?
No, no, he doesn't have a clue, god love him.
It's just that when you come over to garden, you might actually have to garden.
Great. You're breaking up with me
in my own bedroom.
No, no, no. I'm not dumping you.

So, Susan, how are you?
I'm fine.
Good.
You know, I have a confession to make.
I've always wished I'd have been more supportive when carl left you.
Oh, you don't have to apologize about carl.
Really, carl and I are over. I've moved on.
Yes, I know. You've moved on to that nice Mike Delfino.
He's quite a catch, isn't he?

I had this gig once
tracking down this PTA mom who was hell-bent on landing her daughter
a spot on the parade float.
Fed antifreeze to half the homecoming committee.
Did you catch her?
Mr. Young...
선생님
the people who hired me didn't hire me to catch her.

Where are you going?
I'm going to the bathroom, and then I'm going home.
I don't want Mike to catch me here.
It's only been 10 minutes.
She could be waiting to make her move.
Oh, come on. You're not going to beat a girl like that by knocking off early.
It's not a competition.
The hell it isn't.
Good night, Edie.
Suit yourself.

What are you doing?
She had a camera. We've got to catch her.
Mrs. Solis, your husband's going to kill us.
Come on!
Leave me alone!
Give me that camera right now!
Shut up.
I'm not kidding, old woman!
Stay away from me! Don't touch me!
No.
No, you go home.
I'll take care of this.
And you were never here.
Go.

Go.
가라고

I'm not clearing you for surgery.
Fine, I can catch up on my paperwork.

Excuse me?
While we take care of your mother,
you can catch up on charting,
run samples to the lab, go over...
I told you, I'm fine.
Yeah, and I appreciate that you're fine.
But I have to anticipate a certain level
of distraction from you today,
even in the face of all that fineness.
So scut, now.

hrough my fingers'라는 표현이 있다.
A:Jim, Jim!
B:Why do you call Jim? He slipped on his jacket and went out with hi
s friends.
A:Oh boy, he slipped through my fingers. He promised to help me plan
t some corn in the field. He's a boy in his actions.
B:Maybe, the promise slipped his memory.
A:By the way, where did he go?
B:I think he went out to the stream to catch fish.
A:As slippery as an eel!
B:Honey, boys will be boys.
A:짐,짐!
A:맙소사.
<어구풀이>slip on the jacket=재킷을 잽싸게 입다.
Oh boy=
plant=심다.
corn=옥수수.
stream=시냇물.
slippery=미끄러운.
