먼저 burn 은 태우다 는 뜻의 가장 일반적인 단어로 불 또는 고열로 굽는다는 단어입니다.

bake 는 빵 등을 직접 불에 대지 않고, 오븐이나 뜨거운 금속판 위에서 구울 때 쓰는 말입니다.

그 여자의 이름 옆에 그 여자의 느낌을 라틴어 문장으로 요약해 적어

어떻게 읽는지 잘 모르겠는데요 비슷하게 읽으면 생략.. 이게 영어로
옮기면 That won takes the biscuit. 이런 말이 된다고 하네요. 이
문장의 의미는 '그 여자는 용모가 뛰어 납니다.' 이 정도로 이해가 될 수
있는 문장이구요. 이렇게 어떤 아름다운 용모를 가진 여관 주인의 딸을
묘사한 문장으로 시작해서 'take the biscuit' 이런 표현이 '뛰어나다',
'이기다', '상을 타다' 그런 말이 되었다고 합니다. 이 'take the bisc-
uit' 비스켓을 취하다 이 말 말고도요 'take the cake' 또는 'take the
bun' 이런 말도 다 같은 말이 된다는 것도 더불어 알아 주십시오.
