◈ Banana Republic
정부가 부당하게 경제를 정치화 하게되면 기업이 정권의 노예가 되는 바
나나공화국을 초래할 수 있다.
바나나공화국이란 바나나와 같은 특정 농산물에 의존하는 국가를 의미했
다. 남미, 아프리카의 나라들은 바나나, 커피, 코코아 같은 특정 농산물
로 벌어들이는 수익이 국가 경제의 중요한 부분이 된다. 그런데 이 나라
들은 관료주의적인 비효율성, 가난, 뇌물에 쉽게 넘어가는 관료들.. 이런
것으로 특징지어진다. 따라서 이말이 부정적 의미를 나타내는데 부패하
고, 가난하고, 비효율적인 관료주의 국가를 말한다.

【2】 spill the beans : (무심코) 비밀을 누설하다.
spill the works도 같은 뜻. bean은 콩을 뜻하는 것외에 "머리;
달러"를 뜻하기도 한다.
let the cat out of bag도 위의 의미와 같다.
Cool beans! : 감탄사로 "Wow!"의 뜻.
Ex) There is a surprise party for her on Wednesday. Please
don't spill the beans.
You got a car? Cool bananas!
Cool beans, man. That's great!

BANANA현상 : Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anybody
어디에든 아무것도 짓지말라는 지역 이기주의 현상.
쓰레기 처리장이나,핵폐기물 처리장,마약퇴치 센터등의
필요성은 인정하나 그것이 자신의 뒷마당이 아닌 다른사
람의 뒷마당에서 이뤄지기 바라는 이기주의를 일컫는 말.
NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) 현상과 유사하다.
