Just that morning when she woke up in her own bed she thought, “Another hot, humid, dull day, just like every other day this summer.”
But then she remembered! Today was different.
Her favorite aunt and uncle, Melissa and Sean, had invited her to join them on a backpacking trip.
They picked her up at 8:00 A.M. and drove most of the day to get to the national park.
They just had time to pitch their tents, build the fire, and cook dinner before it got dark.
Emily went into the forest to gather firewood.
Then she helped Melissa make hamburger patties.
She didn't realize how hungry she was until she smelled them cooking.
Everything tasted better.
그날 아침 침대에서 깨어났을 때, 그녀는 올 여름 여느 날처럼 뜨겁고, 눅눅하고, 지루한 날이라고 생각했다.

Yesterday, my friend and I took Ben shopping with us, so he
could understand the appeal. I explained everything to him
the night before, but shopping day was a *disaster. He was
not up at 4:30 to be first in line. He *poked around and
refused to wear the shopping *attire I had given him _
comfortable shoes and a backpack. In the shops, he refused to
*cooperate. His critical attitude attracted embarrassing
attention from other shoppers. *To top it all off, when I
made a purchase, he would throw up his arms and *scream.
"Run, Visa Card! Run!"

그런데 정말 가관이었던 것은 제가 물건을 사고 나니, 그는
양팔을 들고 "도망가 비자카드! 도망가!"라고 소리치는
것이었습니다.

don't have to carry your own packages, you are shopping in
the wrong department. Ben may look like a *prize _ but he's
no *bargain.
