The experience is a familiar one to many in an emergency-room.
A patient who has been pronounced dead and unexpectedly recovers later describes what happened to him during those moments¡ªsometimes hours¡ªwhen his body showed no signs of life.
According to one repeated story, the patient feels himself rushing through a long, dark tunnel while noise rings in his ears.
Suddenly, he finds himself outside his own body, looking down with curious detachment at a medical team's efforts to revive him.
He hears what is said, notes what is happening but cannot communicate with anyone.
Soon, his attention is drawn to other presences in the room¡ªspirits of dead relatives or friends¡ªwho communicate with him nonverbally.
Gradually, he is drawn to a vague ¡®being of
light
.'
This being invites him to evaluate his life and shows him highlights of his past in panoramic vision.
The patient longs to stay with the being of
light
but is drawn
back
into his physical body and recovers.

The history of fan dates
back
to the ancient times in Korea.
Murals from ancient tombs show that the ones made of feathers were in use even before the 4th century.
At first, it was just a device to cool with.
But other uses were added as bamboo and paper came into use.
For example, people covered their faces with it to avoid strong sunlight or to hide from their creditors,
and sometimes they even flapped off flies with it.
This device was also used in an artistic way by ancient scholars.
They wrote a poem or painted a picture on it.
In itself, it is just an appliance.
However, a brush stroke on its white canvas creates a transformation and makes it a work of art.

Can background music affect our impressions toward a product?
To answer that question, a group of researchers conducted a study.
Subjects in the study were shown slides of
light
blue or beige pens.
At the same time they looked at the pens, they heard either pleasant or unpleasant music.
Later they were told to choose one of the pens as a gift.
The majority of them chose the pen they had looked at while they were listening to pleasant background music.

Runaway Train
Soul Asylum
Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firely without a
light
You were there like a blowtorch burnin'
I was a key that could use a little turnin'
So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't breathe
One more promise I couldn't keep
It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep there's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray
-
**
Run away train never going
back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there
-
Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seem so faded
I can go where no one eles can go
I know what no one eles knows
Here I am just drownin' in the rain
What a ticket for a runaway train
Everything seems cut and dry
Day and night,earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it
-
** repeat
-
Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughin' at the rain
A little out of touch, little insane
It's just easier train feelin' with the pain
-
** repeat
-
Runaway train never coming
back
Runaway train tearin' up the track
Runaway train burnin' in my veins
Runaway but it always seems to stay
