3. 내가 생각하는 바로는 만화를 보는 것은 전적으로 시간 낭비이다.
→ If you ask me는 보통의 조건절과 달라서 주절의 사실과 관계가 없다.
→ If I say나 If I am asked to say의 표현은 좋지 않다.
→ Is completely a waste of time으로 하지 말 것.

[比較] injure, harm, hurt, wound, damage
injure는 특히 「(생물체의 어느 부분에 그 부분이 정상적인 기능을 하지 못하게) 상처를 입힌다」는 뜻이 있고 감정을 상하게 한다는 뜻으로도 쓰인다.
He was injured in a train crash./ You can injure people by unkind words.
harm은 「해를 끼친다, 손상을 입힌다」는 뜻이고, wound는 특히 「총이나 칼과 같은 무기로 신체의 일부에 상처를 입힌다」는 뜻으로 쓰인다.
The hunter wounded the deer.
hurt는 육체적으로 상처를 입힌다는 뜻일 때 injure와 달리 아주 조그마한 부상을 가리킬 수 있다. 또한 injure와 달리 자동사로도 쓰이며 육체적인 「아픔」이나 정신적인 「고통」을 나타내기도 한다.

damage는 「어떤 사물에 손상을 입혀 그 가치를 저하시킨다」는 뜻으로, 어떤 사물의 존재를 말살해 버리거나 그 가치를 영으로 만드는 뜻을 갖는 destroy와 대립을 이룬다.

damage는 생물의 신체(의 일부)를 목적어로 삼지는 않으나, 다음과 같이 추상명사를 목적으로 삼을 수 있다.

르는 관습이 있다. 가령 William 은 Bill 이라 부르고,Elizabeth
는 Liz 또는 Beth 가 되어 버린다. 그러나 처음부터 떰사람이나 초
면의 사람에게 이름을 부르는 것이 마음에 걸릴 때에는 상황을 보
아서 May I call...? 라고 물어 보아도 된다. 또 이쪽에서 Please
call me Ken. 이라든가 Please call me Mike. 라고 하면 대개의 경
우 상대도 Call me Bill. 처럼 말한다. 인사를 할 때 상대의 이름
을 잘 알아들을 수 없을 때는 What was your name agine,please ?
라고 물으면 된다. 그래도 잘 모르겠으면 How do you spell it,may
I ask ? 라고 철자를 물으면 된다.
