=> 희랍(그리이스)의 용장 '아킬레스'가 갓난아기였을 때 그의
어머니는 아들을 창칼에도 끄덕없는 불사신으로 만들기 위해
'스틱스'라는 저승의 강에 거꾸로 집어넣었다고 합니다. 그런
데 이 때 그의 발꿈치를 손으로 잡고 있었기 때문에 그 부분
만은 물에 젖지 않았다고 합니다. 그 때문에 장성한 아킬레스
는 용맹을 떨쳤지만 결국에는 발꿈치의 부상으로 죽고 말았다
고 합니다. 그래서 "Achilles heel"이 '유일한 약점'의 뜻을
가지게 된 것입니다.
