The reason some people take premonitions seriously is that they tend to remember the few that are fulfilled rather than the many that prove pointless.

At the zoo, Simaba the lion was very sick.
The animal doctor came and tried giving him some red meat full of medicine.
Poor Simba did not even raise his head.
Finally, Simba stopped breathing.
The doctor said, with tears in his eyes, “I regret to tell you that Simba is dead.”
The little children were very shocked to hear it.
“I feel like I've lost an old friend.
I can remember reporting Simba's birth,” said a reporter.

TV programs for children should be improved.
In order to prevent them from learning a violent lifestyle,
networks should stop broadcasting violent TV programs for children.

Afterwards, my brother and I would act them out.

There are so many effects of pollution on the environment that I really don't know where to begin.
Every day we hear something or other on the news.
I remember hearing about some California beaches last week which were considered dangerous for swimming.

There are some music-sharing Websites such as Napster on the Internet.
So, millions of surfers can upload and download MP3 files for free.
Some say there is nothing wrong with this.
Others strongly criticize the music-sharing Websites.
In my opinion, artists have a right to say they don't want their music to be uploaded to the free music community.
We have to remember that artists make a living from their music.
So we need laws that stop the online operators from providing that service without the artists' permission.

Writing on the Internet
- Don't type anything that you wouldn't say to someone's face.
- Remember that people judge you by your words as well as your actions, so do try to write well.
- Don't use information that someone else has already written, pretending it's yours.
- Good writing skills, as well as correct grammar and spelling, do matter.
- Don't do anything that you wouldn't do in real life.
- Express your opinions politely in chat rooms or on message boards.

Most people have great difficulties making their own decisions when they are not sure what to do.
They often let close friends and relatives influence them through opinions.
They even allow gossiping neighbors to express their thoughts for them.
If you are influenced by the opinions of others whenever you reach decisions, you will not succeed in anything you do.
Remember you have a brain and mind of your own.
You should use it and reach your own decisions.

Almost everyone will tell you to write about the things you know best.
And you may know more than you realize.
You are the expert on at least one very interesting subject―yourself!
Remember that just as you enjoy reading stories about others, your readers will enjoy reading stories about your feelings and about things that happened to you.
As you think about writing topics, don't forget your hobbies and talents.
As an expert, you can give your readers the real facts.
Maybe some of your readers will be inspired to try a new hobby themselves.

While an email address may be complicated to remember at first, it's actually very simple when you break it down.
There are three elements to an email address.
The first is the username.
This is the name that identifies the user of the email.
The part of the email address after the @ symbol is called the domain name.
It tells you who is providing the email service.
The last part after the dot is the extension.
It's a three-letter code that tells you something about the type of email service the user has.

- Keep your eyes on the ball.
- Hear only the things you should hear―be deaf to others.
- Don't lose your temper. A decision made in anger is never sound.
- Remember, respect for you is created by the decision on the field.
- No matter what your opinion of another one's judgement, never make an opposing comment on him.
- Don't point your finger and yell at a player.

In the last fifteen years, one hundred thousand elephants have been killed by illegal hunters in this valley.
Here, elephants usually run at the first sight or smell of man.
I want to always remember the deep wrinkles in the skin above the elephant's eyelashes, his wet and shining eyes, which now reflect the sunrise.
Surely this will never happen to me again; the memory must last a lifetime.
And I must never forget the way I feel, for at this moment I can see everything so clearly.

Several factors can interfere with having a good memory.
One such factor is a lack of motivation.
Without a real desire to learn or remember something, you probably won’t.
Another cause is a lack of practice.
To stay sharp, memory skills, like any other skill, must be used on a regular basis.
A third factor that can hurt memory is self-doubt.
If you’re convinced you won’t remember something, you probably won’t.
A person with a positive attitude will do much better on a test than someone who is sure he or she won’t remember the material.
Lastly, distraction can interfere with memory.
If you are being distracted by the sound of a television or a conversation nearby,
try to find a quiet environment before you attempt to commit something to memory.

Be tolerant of their appearance.
Remember, it's important to him to look like his peers.

What makes a person really attractive?
I remember seeing Omar Sharif in Doctor Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia.
At that time, I thought he was astoundingly handsome.
But when I saw him being interviewed on television some months later, and heard him declare that his only interest in life was playing bridge,
to my great amazement he was transformed before my eyes into an astoundingly unappealing man.
Although a person's good looks may get our attention, it is not an impression that necessarily lasts.

Sleepwalking and sleep-talking seem to be different sleep disorders.
Sleepwalkers are capable of walking down stairs or out of doors, all the while remaining fast asleep.
Sleep-talkers, in contrast, stay still, but they effortlessly carry on long conversations.
To be sure, what they say doesn't make any sense.
Yet despite the differences, there are some similarities between the two sleep disorders.
During their walking or talking hours, neither sleepwalkers nor sleep-talkers remember what happened the night before.
Also, both disorders appear to be passed down from parents to children.

Thousands of mammals and birds die each year by swallowing plastic rings.
Remember to break the plastic rings which hold drinks cans together before you dispose of them.

The happy also value pleasures that involve personal effort.
For Ken Rogers, happiness was a cottage on a small lake near Auburn, Indiana.
As a young factory worker, Rogers was determined to give his three children summers they would always remember.
So he cleared a plot of land, built a cottage, and tied a $1 rope to a willow tree for a swing.
Rogers did everything himself because at the time he was in poverty.
Now, when his grown children visit, it's his labors of love that they recall most fondly.

If you think clowning is just putting up makeup and acting like an idiot, you are wrong.
Anybody can be an idiot, but it takes many hours of practice to make your idiocy funny.
Aha! There's the trick.
I have had thirteen years of being a funny idiot, so it came to me naturally.
But making jokes is really hard.
I have to write down ideas when they pop into my head, or else I don't remember them.
Another trick of being a clown is not to scare kids.
It is tough.
Now whenever I go to see kids, I take off the dark stuff and just wear my bright undershirt,
making kids relaxed and willing to enjoy my show.

Writing and editing are distinct processes.
Writing requires you to let the words flow as they come to you.
Editing requires you to stop and critically assess each word.
It is hard to stay in the creative flow when you are stopping after every word to criticize what you've just written.
If you try to write your first draft and edit it at the same time,
you're likely to lose your concentration and get caught up in details instead of delivering your message.
By the time you finish the first paragraph, you are likely to be frustrated and unable to remember what you originally intended to say.

Is chivalry dead?
Who can remember the days when a gentleman got up and gave his seat on a train or a bus to a woman who was visibly pregnant?

Prayer For Bad Times
Dear God: Help me be a good sport in this game of life.
I don't ask for an easy place in the lineup.
Put me anywhere you need me.
I only ask that I can give you 100 percent of everything I have.
If all the hard drives seem to come my way, I thank you for the compliment.
Help me remember that you never send a player more trouble than he can handle.
-
And, help me, Lord, to accept the bad breaks as part of the game.
May I always play on the square, no matter what the others do.
Help me study the Book so I'll know the rules.
-
Finally, God, if the natural turn of events goes against me and I'm benched for sickness or old age, help me to accept that as part of the game, too.
Keep me from whimpering that I was framed or that I got a raw deal.
And when I finish the final inning, I ask for no laurels.
All I want is to believe in my heart that I played as well as I could and that didn't let you down.

Cultural differences sometimes cause problems in carrying out business transactions.
For this reason, if you want to do business in Arab countries, you'd better familiarize yourself with the Moslem and national holidays.
Especially, avoid a visit during Ramadan, the Moslem month of fasting.
And most Arab countries have a six-day workweek from Saturday through Thursday.
When matched with the Monday to Friday practice in most Western countries, it leaves only three and a half workdays shared.
Remember this in planning your appointments.

Perhaps the most understandable reason people lie is so they don't hurt others' feelings.
Most guests at a dinner party wouldn't want to say that they didn't like a specially prepared meal, even if it was terrible.
But even though people lie for good reasons, lying can be harmful.
If we act on false information, we can be hurt.
If we lie and are discovered, it can destroy the trust necessary for strong relationships.
Besides, lying is hard on the brain because one lie leads to another, and we always have to remember our false story.

The following suggestions may be helpful in dealing with identical twins.
First, remember that twins are individuals.
On holidays and birthdays, they deserve separate gifts, cards and recognition.
Second, make a genuine effort to tell twins apart.
Even though they may look very much alike, there are some distinguishing features that you can identify if you are willing to try.
Last but not least, don't assume that twins like the same things, or that they want to be together all the time.
Spending time with each twin separately will help you get to know them as individuals and make telling them apart easier.

― Abraham Lincoln

He fumbled for his key, finally found it, then had trouble finding the keyhole.
"Must remember to turn the front light on if I plan to come homelate again," he told himself.

Men can cooperate with one another better than animals because they can talk.
They teach one another, handing on knowledge and skills, learning things by heart, often using poetry to help them.
When writing was invented people could store more knowledge than they could remember, and human knowledge grew.

"Congratulations, Jill.
I hear that you came into quite an inheritance."
"Yes, I did. My grandmother left me the bulk of her estate when she passed away.
Now I'll have to start thinking of ways to invest it if I want to see it grow."
"True. And remember: don't put all your eggs in one basket."
"Never fear. I won't risk losing my money by investing all of it in a single place.
I plan to spread out my inheritance in real estate, government bonds, and other low-risk investments."
"Now you're talking! If you're interested, I have the name of a good financial counselor.
I'm certain that she could help you."
"Thanks. As soon as I'm ready, I'll look her up."

She had just begun an intense, love-at-first-sight relationship, only to have her lover go off to Europe three weeks later.
For seven tortured weeks she was plagued with doubts.
What if he decided he didn't love her after all?
What if he met someone else during his trip?
What if he didn't call her as soon as he returned?
Full of all these what-ifs, my friend's brain was about to short-circuit, until a wise friend of hers put things in perspective.
"Why worry? Whatever he does, he does.
Remember: You don't know until you know."
My friend stood there, awestruck by the brilliant simplicity of this observation.
There was really nothing she could do about the situation, after all.
And worrying about something before it actually happened suddenly came into focus as the waste of time and energy that it is.
In an instant, it seemed, she was free of the problem, able to settle back and take each day at a time until her lover returned, at which point things progressed just as beautifully as she could have hoped and her fears turned out to be groundless after all.

Yield to the wishes of the other as an exercise in self-discipline if you can't think of a better reason.
If you have a choice between making yourself or your mate look good, choose your mate.
If you feel you must criticize, do so lovingly.
Never bring up a mistake of the past.
Neglect the whole world rather than each other.
Never let the day end without saying at least one complimentary thing to your life partner.
Never meet without an affectionate greeting.
When you've made a mistake, talk it out and ask for forgiveness.
Remember, it takes two to make an argument.
The one who is wrong is the one who will be doing most of the talking.
Never go to bed mad.

There are many happy memories of the weekend that I will keep with me forever.
How can I mention them all?
Above all, I will remember that you made me feel "right at home."
There were so many new and different things for me to see and do.
I particularly enjoyed driving through the countryside with Mr. Johnson and you and seeing the changing colors of the leaves on the trees.

How pleasant it must be to be able to look back on one's life and to realize that one "was always busy doing good and trying to do good, and advising and helping those in trouble"!
I confess, when I scan my past, I have to search very thoroughly before I can discover even one day on which I was "busy doing good and trying to do good."
I can remember several occasions on which I meant to "do good," but something, whether business or pleasure, usually intervened, and I seldom went farther in the matter.
The truth is, I am so out of practice in this business of "doing good" that I should be hard put to it to tell you what "doing good" is.

Foreigners in Korea will always be foreigners to this society.
I remember how self-conscious I was.
When riding a train or a bus, I hated it because people stared.
I would try to hide behind a newspaper but the glaring eyes bored right through the newsprint.
Then, I would try smiling, but it would not work.
Nor would glaring back fiercely.

In the dictionary of youth there is no such word as "fail." Remember the story
about the boy who wanted to march in the circus parade? When the show came to
town, the bandmaster needed a trombonist, so the boy signed up. He hadn't
marched a block before the fearful noises from his horn caused two old ladies to
faint and a horse to run away. The bandmaster demanded, "Why didn't you tell me
you couldn't play the trombone?" And the boy said, "How did I know? I never
tried before."
Many years ago, I mig

can't remember his name).

Now there is a remembrance in Grace's apartment, but there are also four young people
who, whatever direction they take, are bound to remember a strange city where a lady
took the trouble to be friendly to them.

Such statistical elaborations usefully suggest the vast scope of unemployment
and its staggering cost in both forfeited wealth and rescue efforts. Yet it is essential
to remember that statistics tell nothing whatever about the reality of jolbessness.
That reality is always personal and almost always lashed with a confusion of difficult
emotions. Indeed, the psychological cost of joblessness is more hurtful to many victims
than the strain of making financial ends meet.

But what about men? "Jazzercise is a blowout," one Atlanta woman says.
"Remember the first dances you went to, where all the girls ended up dancing with
other girls because the boys couldn't dance? So this gives me a chance to dance,
which my husband hasn't done since our wedding. But my husband still won't
dance. Come to think of it, I'm back to dancing with the girls. Haven't made much
progress in the past 25 years, have I?"

DEAR ABBY : I'm glad you advised that 15-year-old girl against dating boys
of a different religion if she had no intentions of marrying out of her faith.
I was raised in a strict Baptist home, but dated boys I knew I could not marry. I
fell deeply in love with a Jewish boy, but I married someone else. That was over 30
years ago, and I still dream of my first love. Now I wish I had either married him
or not set myself up to fall in love with a man I could not marry.
I REMEMBER MOREY

Memory-training courses are much in vogue nowadays, and it seems to be taken
for granted that the more things we remember, the happier we are.
The pleasures of memory must certainly be rated high, but I am sure
forgetfulness also plays a part in making human beings happy.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth would have given a good deal to be able to forget
the murder of Duncan, and many a politician has longed to be allowed to
forget his election pledges.
Some of the unhappiest people in the world are those who cannot forget
injuries inflicted on them in the past. Others are equally miserable, because
they cannot forget wrongs they have done others.
Human beings are so constituted, indeed, that they forget the things they
would like to remember, and remember the things they would prefer to forget.
The memory should be trained, I think, to overcome both those weaknesses.

English grammar is very difficult and few writers have avoided making
mistakes in it. So heedful a writer as Henry James, for instance, on
occasion wrote so ungrammatically that a schoolmaster, finding such
errors in a schoolboy's essay, would be justly indignant. It is necessary
to know grammar, and it is better to write grammatically than not, but it
is well to remember that grammar is common speech formulated. Usage is
the only test. I prefer a phrase that is easy and unaffected to a phrase
that is grammatical.

The most serious threat to a person's progress arises from his efforts to
keep safe in his job, to see to it that he doesn't make mistakes.
Sometimes when we adopt "safe" attitudes we tell ourselves that we don't
disagree with the boss because we are loyal to him and the organization.
Far be it from me to belittle loyalty, but I would rather have a little
disagreement. I'd rather have someone give me an argument. Let us
remember that two men in an organization think exactly alike, we can
get along without one of them.

When you hear that so-and-so has said something horrid about you, you
remember the ninety-nine times when you have refrained from uttering the
most just and well-deserved criticism of him, and forget the hundredth
time when in an unguarded moment you have declared what you believe to
be the truth about him. Is this the reward, you feel, for all your long
forbearance? Yet from his point of view your conduct appears exactly
what his appears to you; he never knows of the times when you have not
spoken, he knows only of the hundredth time when you did speak.

My mother loved me no less ardently than my father, but she was of a
quicker temper, and less clever at winning affection.
She was comely when I first remembered her, she was also accomplished.
Had I not known my father, I love her better than anyone in the world,
but affection goes by comparison; indeed in after-life I remember my
mother's telling me, with many tears, how jealous she had often been
of the love I bore him. She would say how mean she had thought it of
him to entrust all scoldings to her, so that he might have more than
his due share of my affection.

Remember that man whom you are talking to is a hundred times as much as
interested in himself and his wants and his problems as he is interested
in you and your problems. His toothache means more to him than a famine
in China. Think of that the next time you start a conversation.

During a CPR training class, we were paired up to practice the Heimlich
maneuver. The instructor set the scene by saying, "Imagine you're at a
dinner party with your spouse and he or she starts choking."
He then reminded us not to do anything to people who were coughing,
because they'd probably dislodge the obstruction on their own.
We were to calm such victims with quiet talk and encourage them to
continue coughing.
When the role playing began, one woman moved close to her coughing
"husband." She placed a hand on his shoulder and whispered, "Honey,
did you remember to mail your life-insurance-premium check last week?"

A:Oh, yes. Now I remember. What a coincidence to meet in San
Francisco!

B:Well, you Know What they say-it's a small world.

[아, 생각난다]는 Now I remember라고 말한다.
있습니다]는 진행의 뜻이지만 I'm still remembering이 아니고 I still
실망 등을 나타낼때 What a...!
What a surprise to see you here!
What a pity she can't come!
You know what they say는 You know the saying... 여기서의 they는
It's a small world는 미국인들이 잘쓰는 [세상

There is a good chance this will happen if you consider the recent
actions taken by the U. S. government to stabilize the dollar. In
fact, the dollar has already begun to recover. You must also remember
that your main competitors are facing the same pressures, which should
mean no one will enjoy a distinct advantage.

Your tragedy brings back to mind the pain and grief I experienced when
I lost my mother a few years ago. Somehow, with time, the pain has
faded and now only the warm memories remain. I pray peace of mind comes
to you soon.
bring back to mind
pain and grief [고통과 슬픔]
the pain has faded
the warm memories remain
peace of mind [마음의 평온, 평정]

Remember me to your mother.

Don't wish your life away making impossible plans for your future. Grand
plans are fun, but not really helpful if you can't achieve them. And
don't let other people pressure you into trying to achieve things that
you know are not possible. You'll only worry about achieving them, and
that will trigger a whole host of new anxieties. Set yourself realistic
goals, and aim to achieve them one step at a time. Remember that life is
precious and you need to live in the present as well as hold on to your
dreams for the future.

How often are we introduced to someone only to forget his or her name
moments later? In fact, many times we never knew the name. Today
introductions are made in an unclear manner so that it is very hard to
remember others' names. Forgetting people's names often means we do not
really care about them. When we know their names, we are saying, "You are
important. I remember you." A clear introduction should be made,
therefore, if you want to build good social relationships with others.

Recently, I was in a restaurant when a woman and a young boy sat down
at the neighboring table. I happened to hear their conversation, The
woman asked: "So, how have you been?". And the boy, no more than seven
or eight years old, replied, "Frankly, I've been a little depressed
lately." This remained in my mind because it strengthened my belief that
children were changing. As I remember, my friend and I didn't realize we
were "depressed" until high school. The proof of a change in children has
been increasing steadily. Children don't seem childlike anymore. Children
speak, dress, and behave more like adults than in the past. Little girls
wearing earrings and designer dresses are not uncommon. Boys wearing
hairs styles like movie stars aren't rare anymore. These changes are not
without reason. In the past, children learned the secrets of adulthood
very slowly. Today, however, TV, computers, and the media are pushing
children into adult roles. Indeed, the amount of information available to
children is quickening the beginning of adulthood.

Mr. Jackson began to forget things, and this made his work very
difficult. He got so worried that one day he went to see Dr. Smith. The
doctor asked, "What can I do for you?" "Well..." Mr. Jackson mumbled. He
couldn't remember what he wanted to see the doctor about.

My memory is going, but I don't miss it that much. The nice thing is that
I remember mostly good things, and I tend to forget bad ones. For
example, I remember my childhood quite well, because it was really very
happy. I can't remember how old I am, but I seem to remember my birthdays
without any problem. This is strange, because I sometimes forget those of
other people -- especially if I have to dress up or give expensive
presents. I often forget to get up and go to work in the morning.
Fortunately, I seem to remember that I'm retired.

I remember I had quite pleasant activities after school. When I
returned home after school, dinner was usually ready. When I finished my
homework after dinner, I went to the swimming pool or to the public
library. During the weekends, I went with my father to the movie theater
or to a museum. These activities, however, were quite different from my
mother's.

An Affair To Remember

Stories
I remember quite clearly now when the story happen.
The autumn leaves were floating on (?) down to the ground.
Recovering the lake where we used to swim like children.
When the sun would dare to shine.
At that time we used to be happy.
Well I thought we were.
I'm standing here alone.
It doesn't seem so clear to me.
What am I supposed to do.
About this burning heart of mine
Oh, what am I to do?
What should I react?
Tell me, please.
The rain was killing the last days of summer.
