* 흑인 영어에는 be동사를 인칭에따라 변형시키지 않고 사용하는
경우가 많습니다. 예를 들어 * He is a nice man.이 문법적으로
는 맞지만 흑인경우는 He be a nice man.으로 사용합니다.
흑인영어의 대표적인 문법체계 입니다.
* 실제로 미국에서 시험 정답란에 흑인 학생이 인칭변화 없이 답
을 작성하였다가 선생님이 오답처리를 하였다고 합니다. 이 문
제로 말썽이 일어나 법적으로 해결! 흑인 학생이 승소 하였다고
합니다. 흑인영어의 문법체계를 인정한 것이죠.

호박씨 깐다.내숭 떤다.
-> PUMPKIN SEED(x)
-> He is two faced.
-> He is a double dealer.
-> He has duar personality.(duar->이중 인격)
-> hypocrite.(위선자)
뭐 이렇게 있지만 그래두 맨 마지막 표현은 잘 쓰지 않으니까
워에 있는 몇 가지 표현을 쓰시는게 좋아요.쉬운 영어로 된 것이요.

1. Double을 이용한 표현
The boy was double the size of his sister.
형용사 -> 두배의
동사 -> 두배가 되다
명사 -> 두배

- 우리나라 사람이 미국에 가서 택시를 탔는데, 운전수가 뒤
돌아보면서 "Single"하고 묻더랍니다. 그래서 "혼자"라고
생각했는데, 그 운전사 왈 "잔돈이 없는데, 1$짜리 갖고
있는가"라는 뜻이라고 합니다. "Single"이 어떻게 1$짜리
가 되었고, 그 밖의 쓰임에 관해서 물으셨읍니다.
===> 93년 2월호 GMP 책자내 자문위원님이 "Single"때문에
겪었던 일을 진술한 것이 있는데요. Single이라는 뜻은
여러가지가 있는데, 형용사나 명사로는 "하나"라는
뜻으로 Double, triple, compound와는 상대적인 뜻으로
쓰이고, 동사로서는 여러개 중에서 뽑아내다. 선택적
으로 쓰이다라는 뜻이 됩니다. 최인선 가족이 물으신
대로 Single이 미국에서는 1$짜리 지폐로 쓰이고,
영국에서는 1 pound짜리 지폐로 쓰이는데, 이것은 모두
"하나"라는 명사로써 쓰인 것입니다. 호텔에서 방을 말
할때 한 사람이 사용하는 방을 'Single'이라고 이야기
하죠. 그리고 1인용 침대는 'Single Bed'라고 말하구요
미국에서 편도용 차표를 'One-way ticket'이라고 하는
데, 영국에서는 'Single ticket'이라고 합니다. 음악이
담겨있는 Record중 양쪽에 한 곡씩 들어있는 판을
'Single'이라고 합니다. 그리고 결혼하지 않은 미혼인
상태를 'Single'이라고 이야기 합니다. 미혼인 남녀가
찾아가는 술집을 'Single Bar'라고 하고, 결혼하지
않고 혼자사는 생활을 'Single life'라고 합니다. 배우자
가 없이 혼자 자녀를 키우는 사람을 'Single Parent'라고
도 합니다. 운동 경기에서도 'Single'의 뜻이 사용되기도
하는데, Tennis나 탁구에서 '복식'을 Double, '단식'을
'Single'이라고 하죠. Golf에서 handy가 10 미만인 실력
을 Single이라고 합니다. 야구에서 Single은 1루타를 치
는 것을 말하고, Single home-run은 보통 말하는 "솔로
홈런"을 일컫습니다. 스키장의 Lift앞에서 누가 Single
이라고 물으면, '같이 Lift를 타도 되겠는가?'라는
뜻이 됩니다.

They let their dogs run loose and do not clean up after them.
Perhaps the most disregarded of all laws are our traffic regulations.
More and more drivers are speeding, going through red lights, and double parking on the road.
And some drivers, apparently not even worrying about being fined,
have been parking in spaces clearly marked as reserved for the physically challenged.
These are some examples that show a lack of respect for the law.
