Before the 1500's, the western plains of North America were dominated by
farmers. One group, the Mandans, lived in the upper Missouri River
country, primarily in present-day North Dakota. They had large villages
of houses built close together. The tight arrangement enabled the
Mandans to protect themselves more easily from the attacks of others who
might seek to obtain some of the food these highly capable farmers

알게 되었습니다. 애비씨, 그 할머니 성함은 버넌 스토츠이며,
93번째 생일을 지냈습니다. 참으로 대단하신 분이지요. 저도 그
나이가 되어 그 할머니처럼 활동적으로 살 수 있었으면
좋겠습니다.
