`Overseas Travel Tax' : '해외여행세'
The just-announced ``10-year tourism-promotion plan'' is
short-sighted, and is apparently the product of expediency rather than
any long-term strategy. It has been motivated by the need to finance
local tourism programs and help reduce the surging tourism deficit, but
it is feared that the rough, makeshift way it has been put together will
result in many undesirable side-effects.
이제 막 발표한 "관광 진흥 10개년 계획"은 근시안적인 발상으로, 장기 전
략이라기보다는 편의주의에서 나온 산물로밖에 볼 수 없다. 그것은 국내 관
광 사업을 재정 지원하고 늘어가는 관광 수지 적자 폭을 감소시키기 위한
목적으로 나온 것이지만, 즉흥적이고 임시변통으로 세운 조치로 인해 많은
뜻하지 않은 부작용을 초래할 것이 우려되고 있다.

Representative of the stopgap measures is the tax of 20,000 won to
30,000 won to be collected from Koreans travelling overseas starting next
year to create a fund for domestic tourism promotion. A total of 200
billion won is expected to be raised over the next five years by this
means.
그 미봉책의 골자는 내년부터 해외로 출국하는 국민으로부터 2만 - 3만원
씩 걷어들여 국내 관광산업의 진흥 기금을 조성한다는 것이다. 이런 방식
으로 5년동안 총 2천억 원이 조성될 것으로 예상하고 있다.

In order to get foreign and Korean tourists to see Korea first, the
nation has to elevate its competitiveness in terms of both prices and
services, create new attractions and expand infrastructure for the
domestic tourist industry. The new policy needs further study before
implementation.

가격과 서비스에서 경쟁력을 높여야 하고, 새로운 볼거리를 마련하면서, 국
내 관광산업을 위한 인프라를 확장해야 한다. 새로운 관광 진흥 정책은 시
행에 앞서 더 많은 연구 검토를 거쳐야 한다.

신청요건 및 지원자격은 신청일 기준 도내 거주중이거나 사업장을 둔 예비, 초기창업자 선정일 이후 전라북도로 사업장 이전, 지사 설립 등이 가능한 기업, 기타 선정평가위원회 또는 진흥원장이 필요하다고 인정하는 기업이다.
