접근법

If you recognize your friend Jack feels depressed, what should you do?
First talk to him about it.
Try to discover what he is feeling.
If you can't persuade him to discuss the problem,
try an approach like "you remind me of the time when I was depressed."
This may keep him from feeling lonely.
Then, provide emotional support.
Please don't forget to listen sympathetically, point out the realities of the situations and always offer hope.

먼저 그에게 그것에 대해서 이야기를 해라.

Traveling around the country I find that more and more people have an urge to pry into such difficult subjects as science, philosophy, religion and political theory.
More often than not, however, this urge soon dries up.
People find that the book which they open with high hopes of enlightenment turns out to be beyond their grasp.
Actually, any book intended for the general reader can be understood if you approach it in the right way.
What is the right approach?
The answer lies in one important rule of reading.
You should read a book through superficially before you try to master it.
전국을 두루 여행하다보면 더욱더 많은 사람들이 과학이나, 철학, 종교, 경제, 정치이론 같은 어려운 주제에 파고들려고 하는 것을 알게 된다.
그러나 종종 이런 욕망은 이내 시들어버린다.
사람들은 계몽에 대한 바람을 갖고 펼쳐본 책이 그들이 이해할 수 없다는 것을 알게 된다.
사실, 일반 독자를 대상으로 한 책은 제대로 접근하면 이해할 수 있다.
적절한 접근법이란 무엇인가?
해답은 독서에 관한 중요한 규칙에 있다.
여러분은 책을 완전히 통달하기 전에 먼저 대략적으로 통독을 해야 한다.
