to another for every penny of necessary expenditure. For all these reasons
such women hesitate to embark upon maternity.

한 여자만이 아니라 가족을 부양해야 하기 때문이다. 독립된 생활을 즐기던
그녀가 필요한 지출을 위해 다른 사람에게 한푼씩 타 써야 한다는 것은
짜증나는 일이다. 이런 이유로 여성들은 어머니가 되기를 망설인다.
새피족(Suburban Aging Professions):도시에서 거주하는 전문직엘리트를
뜻하는 여피족에 대비되는 개념으로 교외에 거주하면서 자연친화적인
생활을 누리려고 하는 사람들. 80년대가 여피족의 세상이었다면 90년대는
새피족이 대거 등장한 시대.
