The problems of the nation's cities―pollution, crime, riots, a lack of planning, transportation―are bad, but they were worse in the so-called "good old days," according to Dr. Charles Adrian.

500 - 800℃ 사이의 저온에서 석탄을 건류하고 남은 고체 잔유물 갈탄의 경우
건류온도는 400 - 600℃이며 토탄의 경우는 350 - 550℃를 최저 온도로 잡는다.
