스톡옵션(stock option)(주식매수 청구권):회사의 설립과 경영 기술혁신 등에
기여했거나 기여할 능력을 갖춘 임직원에게 자사주식을 싸게 살 수 있는
권리를 주는 제도. 마이크로소프트, 인텔, IBM등 대부분의 정보통신기업들이
이 제도를 시행하고 있다. 국내에서는 1997년4월부터 증권거래법 개정에
따라 이 제도를 도입할 예정이다. 특히 벤처기업을 중심으로 확산될 것으로
보인다. 이는 이런 조건으로 회사밖에서 우수한 인재를 스카우트할 수 있어
고용제도의 유연성 유지에도 도움이 된다. 그동안 법으로 금지되었던
이재도가 최근 일본에서 연내에 허용하기로 방침을 정했다는 보도도 있다.

경영진이 자사주 매입에 동참하면서 주주친화 경영도 힘을 받을 것이라는 전망이다.
