맞습니다. 이 screw가 바로 그거죠.
screw는 나사입니다. 그래서 나사 모양으로 생긴 하드를 스크루바라고 했던 거죠.

그 나사를 반대 방향으로 돌려보렴.

나사인 screw가 동사로 쓰이면 '나사를 죄다'죠.
그래서 to screw up one's courage라고 하면 용기를 죄어 올리는 것이니까

참, screw가 속어(slang)으로 성적인 표현으로도 쓰입니다.
나사를 죄는 거니까 뭔지 아시겠죠. ^^;
그래서 screw around는 난잡한 사생활을 하다라는 의미를 가집니다.

bar는 막대기입니다. 그래서 스크루바죠.
수학시간에 집합에서 {x:x2+x+2=o}이라고 할 때 x bar x라고 읽습니다.

bar는 막대기니까 behind bars라고 하면 감옥 쇠창살 뒤에 있는 것이죠.
그래서 put ∼ behind bars라고 하면 ∼를 감옥에 넣다입니다.

막대기 모양으로 생긴 것은 다 bar입니다.
그래서 술집이 bar죠. bartender랑 같이 이야기도 할 수 있는 그 긴 table이 있는 곳.
bar code에도 막대기 모양으로 생긴 줄이 많이 있죠.

막대기 모양의 빗장도 bar라고 합니다.
여기서 더 나아가서 빗장을 질러 못하게 하는 것도 bar를 쓰죠.
